BDB & BDM - solo. Cycled along by the Gruinard River to the bridge before Loch na Sealga followed by a long walk up to Loch Toll a Lochain. Plagued by hundreds of deer keds all day!Dangerous Dave05/09/2023

Done as a circuit of Beinn Dearg Bheag via the north ridge from the Gruinard River, before traversing the ridge to Beinn Dearg Mhor via the bealach. Descent was down the south east coire after the south peak with a traverse straight to the back of Larachantivore. From there I took the bog path direct to Shenaval and up the path to where I could break off and up onto the spine of Sail Liath to get onto the An Teallach ridge. Lots of evidence of the previous Saturday's storm which sat over the mountain with voluminous thunder, lighting and heavy rain for several hours. A massive slide looks to have taken place in Corrag Bhuide with Loch Toll an Lochain looking very opaque from all the sediment still sitting in suspension. Pinnacles taken reasonably direct to Sgurr Fiona and then following a line across to Sgurr Creag an Eich and out to Sgurr Ruadh to descend the ridge that's always enticed me. I had intended to head up Sail Mhor as part of this but the fitness felt a little lacking and aEnnoch22/07/2023

Beinn Dearg Mor and Beinn Dearg Beag from Corriehallie with John. Parked at Corriehallie car park and followed the track South and then the split off to Shenavall. Crossed the river in fromt of the bothy with no issues and then carefully across the bog to Larachantivore, including a second river crossing. Ascended steeply up to BD Mor's East top avoiding the overhanging crags, and then proceeded around to the corbett summit. Had lunch, then descended down to the bealach and then up to the summit of BD Beag. Descended back to the bealach, then slowly down into Coire Toll an Lochan, then skirted east of the lochan and then down to the path running along Loch na Sealga back to just before Larachantivore, where we then retraced our steps back to Shenavall and back to Corrie Hallie. Big day under blue skies - 10.5hrs in total.mproudfoot29/04/2023

Walked in from Gruinard Bay, camping at the head of Loch na Sealga. Climbed both Corbetts via Toll an Lochain before walking out. Beautiful day, both stunning summits. Tough walk though - ~28km including the walk out, mostly rough ground, and 1,400m ascent.douglas_easton15/05/2022

Cycled up to Loch Sealga then intermittent tracks along loch and up past Loch Toll to col, then BDM and BDB. Steep sections higher up require care. Cycling did save time thanks to recent pothole filling.Topographer5713/05/2019

With: hb; From Shenevall, across two very low rivers & very dry bog (!) to Larachantivore. Slanted and zig-zagged to gain S corrie then up to the E top. Along ridge to main summit and airy top. Descended to bealach then up Beinn Dearg Bheag and N top. Descended back to bealach then down to Loch Toll an Lochain down to path by Loch na Sealga for return to Shenevall.Ian Baines05/06/2018

From Gruinard. No bike hire in Ullapool, so had to walk. Tough slog up up Loh Toll an Lochain, veered slightly too far west and had to contour under crags. Also missed the faint path from the Mor/Beag col to the summit, it's on the north side. Stunning views of An Teallach, quite hazy south. Summit area is fantastic.Owen B26/09/2017

Via Shenavall, the 2 river crossings were easy without need to wade, the bog in between the 2 rivers got me though. Up to the SE ridge scramble on the left of the approach coire, mentioned in passing in the Corbetts book. This was much better than expected, probably grade 3, with absorbing route finding. Felt quite adventurous. Descent from the Mor Beag col. A fine hill.David Bell29/05/2017

Beinn Dearg Bheag and Beinn Dearg Mor from Gruinard on overnight backpack. Long walk in and along Loch na Sealga, ascent to Loch Toll an Lochain then beallach between the two tops. Beinn Dearg Bheag then Beinn Dearg Mor, straightforward but no views. Rivers high on walk in and rain for much of route. Also visited spectacular summit c70m away from summit cairn.RobertP08/07/2016

MC JC. With Beinn Dearg Bheag. Wandered in from Coirrie Hallie on evening of 29 MAy where at the car it was readin 29 degrees at 7 pm. Camped beyond Shenavall over the river beside a large patch of flowering gorse. Met people coming out from Fisherfield who were staggering with dehydration! Ascended straight up SE ridge. Steep and hot. Great setting. Great cliffs and ridges. Steep descent and up the Bheag. Direct descent to tiny lochan between the two peaks. Had a paddle. 2.5h out to car in 30 deg heat.Martin6630/05/2009

From Shenaval bothy. Off at 7.30. In boots with one sock to cross both rivers - water up to calf height. Off on rising traverse over trackless tussock, swamp, heather and boulders. Over 2 or 3 red rock runs and clamber straight up on all fours to a rocky outcrop. Entered corrie on W side. Small descent past a snow patch and uphill on sandstone slab covered grass slope to top. 11.05. Magnificent spot. Eagle hovered with 8' wings then stooped down the rock face out of sight by tucking its wings back. Stupendous. to B D B.arranc25/05/1995

Party of 5. Spent the night in survival bags at the col between Beinn Dearg Bheag and Beinn Dearg Mòr. Set off at 05:30 and reached the summit of Beinn Dearg Mòr at 06:15. We had thought of possibly descending the east ridge but because of the conditions we decided to go back to the col. We had thought of crossing over An Teallach to reach Dundonnell, but because of the low cloud and generally damp conditions we decided to walk out to our starting point near Carn na h-Aire. Also didn’t fancy crossing the Abhainn Srath na Sealga which is notorious for causing problems. Descended to Loch Toll an Lochain and down to the path beside Loch na Sealga. Retraced our steps of the day before. Saw a black throated diver.pwbellarby20/06/1993
