see logs for Beinn Airigh Charr and Meall Mheinnidh (MM).From MM easily SE to Bealach Mheinnidh. To summit E then SE (no path) over short grass/stony moor. Returned to bealach then down very unpleasant rough stony mapped path alongside Allt Poll Fraochain. Over causeway (never submerged) and onto Carnmore Stables bothy (NG978769). The bothy is dry and has 4 mattresses | carole engel | 12/09/2023 |
Bike to Kernsary and edge of forest, path to base of Meall a'Mheinnidh then traverse around south of it to bealach, | alda | 07/09/2023 |

Cycled in from Poolewe with D. Dave and CM to 910789 at the SE edge of the forest where we left the bikes. Great weather conditions and the track is very good all the way to the bealach at 963740. Easy climb to the summit. Including Meall Mheinnidh 25 miles return and a long 11 hours taking it easy. | bolton | 02/09/2023 |
Cycled in from Poolewe. Good, hard path all the way. Good path also up to Bealach Mheinnidh. Ferrel goats live up on the ridge. Saw a golden eagle too. Did the hill solo as I got separated from Phil & Chris on the bike ride in! | Dangerous Dave | 02/09/2023 |
Beinn Lair & Meall Mheinnidh from Poolewe with John & Jon. Tough ride in - starting fine on the road to Kernsary, then a little tougher on the boggy forest track before the very tough singletrack along to Fionn Loch. Made it as far as half way under Meall Mheinnidh before abandoning the bikes. In hindsight, dropping the bikes at the end of the forest trakc would have made more sense. On foot, followed the path E until the path up to Bealach Mheinnidh, then took a direct line up to Beinn Lair's disappointing summit. Dropped back down to the bhealach and took in Graham Meall Mheinnidh (a little over 200m of extra ascent/descent) before returning to the bealach and back to bikes. Cycle out was a bit easier on the legs.

W Malky and Jackie after leaving bikes at Kernsary and walking, via a swim at Fionn Loch. Camped at 650m on W shoulder of hill. Windy and sunny. Colder in evening. Morton's bad in right foot after only an hour or two. Fell badly on way back to tent after Lair summit but was OK to walk in the morning. | Rounsfell | 22/07/2023 |
From Carnmore to causeway and up a well made stalkers path. Easy terrain from there. | iangalbraith | 19/06/2023 |
Round of Lair and Mheinnidh from Poolewe. Cycled up to Loch DC (a debatable decision) then followed paths to Mheinnidh col and smooth ground to summit. | Topographer57 | 09/06/2023 |

A 3-day bivibag round from junction of Beinn Airigh Charr path and access track. DAY 2: Woke up in bivi bag in the cloud which was to prove a problem for much of day.Started straight up Beinn Lair(C) which apart from a momentary doubt at a very well cairned false top was straightforward. Out into the sun on summit and good views of a temperature inversion. Did not last. Back into cloud and had real problems locating Sgurr Dubh(Gt); and its SE top (Ct); but managed both in the end at the expense of extra time and effort. Decided to skip Meall Damh and leave for another day from the East Bivied in bealach before it. | dickscroop | 29/06/2021 |
From Incheril. Cost and logistics mitigated against paying for a boat across. Slioch / Letterewe path as far as Smiorasair. Up Coire Smiorasair, reasonably good going after the brief steep section with bracken, to the 500m contour, then lumpy descent to the loch outflow, bite to eat at the bothy. Fairly good going up Allt an Eas Bhain, then straight up the south shoulder of Coire Lair, initially heathery and uneven. On descent took a grassier line initially SSE off the summit, otherwise retraced the route. Ideal weather for a long outing : gentle, cool NW breeze, plenty of high cloud, dry weather and dry underfoot. | Owen B | 21/06/2021 |

Bike to forest east of Kernsary then good paths to Bealach. Still, sunny day giving fine views to Fisherfield and Torridon. Return over Meall Mheinnidh. A good day out! Shower during bike ride back! | MichaelF | 19/05/2017 |
Took the boat across from the Loch Maree Hotel with Mark, Anne, Ralph the Collie and Dad. The first of 3 hills reached by the stalkers path from Letterewe House to the Bealach Mheinnidh and up easy slopes from there. Fine views to Fisherfield and Torridon. | bowlesy | 17/05/2017 |
Took an unusual route for Beinn Lair, Meall Mheinnidh and Beinn Airigh Charr. We arranged to meet Eoghan Maclean at the Loch Maree Hotel and he took us by boat to Letterewe. This took around half an hour and he dropped us off near the stalkers track leading to Beinn Lair, after this was climbed we went on to the Graham Meall Mheinnidh and then took a steep descent down quite rough terrain before heading up Beinn Airigh Charr. We took the ridge back towards Loch Maree before dropping down to pick up the track which took us back to our start track and the shore. We stopped on Isla Maree on our return which was a bonus. With Anne, Chris and Mark. A memorable trip. | Peterb | 17/05/2017 |

Cycled in from Poolewe as far as forest end. Superb day including Meall Mheinnidh. Incredible views. | Campbell Singer | 09/05/2015 |
With Yeltzbagger. Wonderful four nights in the Fisherfield Forest. Camped at the pass between Beinn Lair and Meall Mheinnidh. One of the best hills. Yeltzbagger climbed Meall Mheinnidh later so he could get radio reception for Villa's FA Cup semi final. I rested at the tent. | Stevie n Tay | 19/04/2015 |

MC JC. Kayaked across Loch Maree for an overnight stay. Reasonably choppy. Climbed path behind Letterewe House to bealach. Dropped sacks and climbed Beinn Lair. Very hot and sultry. 5 ponies on top. Returned to packs and descended to Fionn Loch where we camped on the beach at the end of the loch. Beautiful views. Wind dropped. Midge hell. In bed by 8.30pm. Arose early on following morning and trook leisurely stroll to summit of Beinn a'Chaisgein Mor. Fantastic VP. Reeturned, packed tent and exited by route in. Climbed the Graham Meall Mheinnich on way out. Paddled back across a very rough L. Maree. Great trip. | Martin66 | 14/08/2010 |
With Peter Cottam using 2 cars. Boat from Loch Maree Hotel to NG934725. 1 mile tramp though woods to bridge at Letterewe. Path to bealach for Beinn Lair and Meall Mheinnidh, descending W to Poolewe. Mist and drizzle all day. | Galltywenallt | 11/06/2010 |
