Tremendous views, well worth climbing. | DavieRuts | 24/04/2022 |
4th tump of 11 on a 23.7km circuit West of Kilmelford, climbing Ceann Mor, Druim am Fhaillich and Cnoc Bealach a' Chrois, descending to track then taking it NE to NM81742 14794 then breaching a section of conifers to head SE before climbing upto the top, recording 311m @ NM 82001 14775. Onwards NE to Cruach nam Fearna... | Dazingdale | 14/05/2019 |
The route from NNW of the forest track is definitely the one to take. But this leads to a lower summit. The true summit lies eastwards though a defensive wall of trees about 30m thick. Keep your head down if you value your eyeballs! | summitter | 01/07/2018 |
Best approach from track to NNW where there are no trees at NM 8185 1450 | carole engel | 15/05/2018 |
Third hill on a short round of 4 to bag the Marilyn Cruach nam Fearna. From Creag Bealach a'Chraois on a slightly convoluted route through conifer plantation, not too dense so not too difficult. On to the Marilyn. | jonglew | 13/05/2018 |
Return visit to reach the true summit. Even with that, an excellent walk above Loch Melfort on a sunny spring day. Bus to Kilmelford, lochside road to Ardanstur/Ardenstur, track up below Creag Feàrna (with short excursion to investigate Druim Bàrr na Coille en route) to fallen tree and firebreak (which shortly forks – bear right) and so to summit. Views extensive but hazy: Mull, Cruachan, and Crianlarich hills clearly visible with snow, but Paps of Jura very grey, though identifiable. Down to fallen tree and left on tracks past lochan west of Creag an Stùrra to Ardanstur/Ardenstur and back to Kilmelford. | mainnirnamfiadh | 20/03/2018 |
After Creag Bealach a’ Chraois. Forest track to about 817148 where no trees on right, then up on rough grass (initially steep) to first top at just over 300m. The belt of trees shown on the 1:50k (but not the 1:25k) map prevented sight of the true summit, so this was not visited, and awaits a return trip. Weather a bit duller. Retraced steps to forest track, then to main top. | mainnirnamfiadh | 20/02/2018 |
Followed lovely grassy track up and across hillside to forest. Round to col betwen the two tops, where fire break leads to summit. | Minto | 07/06/2015 |
Up track to fallen tree, south to top, north to Ma. Easiest gradient. Sunny, mild, calm and good views. | iangalbraith | 07/06/2015 |
