A great circular walk from Rheguile. Up the mast track easily, taking the rocky path along the ridge to Struie Hill rather than the ATV swamp. Along the ridge path to Struie, soggy but clear. A few yards back NE, then off piste SE down the ridge towards pt 199 finding a deer track leading close to a prominent white rock (approx. NH670847), developing into an unmapped, disused green path leading to the Pollagharrie track at NH676846 and back to Rheguile.Gill218/02/2024
Start 7:45 from the parking place just S of the pass. Dewy morning; assailed by midges while booting up. As most others, used path by the wood. Nice hill with good view from the top. Weather fine; finished 8:20.dbb05/09/2023
Beautiful weather today and fine views in both directions overlooking the Dornoch Firth.Alex C31/08/2023
Quick bag on the long drive north, but a very worthwhile little hill with extensive views. As others have noted before, parked at the extensive space by the bridge to the W of the summit and ascended the good path from the roadside just to the north. Just under 2km, 30 minsRockdoctor20/05/2023
With Yeltzbagger from Rheguile. We ought to have set off earlier because of how slowly we walk. We hadn’t realised how long it would take us to get from Struie Hill then down to the gap. Met two lovely gentlemen on Struie Hill called Duncan and Davie. They waited for us on Struie to make sure I was okay and offered to give us a lift back to Rheguile if we went down the other side with them. We said we would be fine but ended up using head torches on the track. A great day. Out of all proportion to the height of the ridge.Stevie n Tay29/11/2022

Solo. From parking area on B9176 at NH650849. As others used the good path that goes up the hillside towards and on the lefthand side of a small wood and on to the summit. Start of path is about 100m N of the parking and marked by a small pile of stones on the E side of the roadside ditch. A nice hill for a nice afternoon.pwbellarby14/05/2022

from layby at bend in B9176 to the south of the col. Path leaves the road through a ditch and broom 50 metres north of layby. Not obvious, but thereafter a good path goes all the way to the summit, quite steeply at times. KeithByTheC11/09/2020
From P area to W. there is a path through the heather all the way to the summit. Super little hill.ger10/09/2020
As for others parked at the lay-by at 651089 walked short distance up the road to find the path to the summit. Round trip 1.27 miles, 38 mins walking time.JulieB04/09/2020
From the lay-by and up the surprisingly good path.Peterb06/11/2019
7 & 9 of 9. Out from B9176 layby at 651849. Return from Struie Hill. Good path most of the way.ChrisR27/08/2019
From cairn by roadside following path through heather to top. Very hot 25c even at 10. Great views as would be expected.garyhoney02/08/2019
Quick bag on the way from Durness to Kingussie. Parked at the bend at 650850. Pile of stones by the road near the high point marks the start of the path up through the heather to the attractive summit.Owen B27/04/2019
Lunch short walk from highpoint car park on B road. Cairn marks start of path to summit just north of parking.N.Morters15/03/2019
From big lay-by just south of high point on B9176. The good path starts about 100m N of the lay-by (cairn on grass verge). Blown up the final steep rise by a westerly gale.Isbjorn28/12/2018
Good viewpoint, easy ascent up previously mentioned path.clashcityrocker03/08/2018

From Bend to East, good path from road to summit.rhalstead19/06/2018
With J on the way back from a week in Sutherland. A bit of a waste given that the haar had blown in from the sea on the easterly breeze obliterating the view. Just over the first summit on the B9176 as you head S from the Dornoch Firth, a large parking area with two field gates & a couple of pylons nearby appears on the R. Walked back up the road for about 100m where the easily missed narrow track led directly to the misty summit. On the way down, spotted the second cuckoo of the week as opposed to the 7000 we heard. A summit to be revisited...NotReallyABagger26/05/2018
Parked in the large layby on the B9176, near the high point of the road. The key to enjoying this hill is to find the path, otherwise you flounder in thick heather. The path starts from NH 65107 85057 and leads all the way to the top. The views are amazing and if it wasn't for the freezing wind I would have stayed up there for longer to enjoy the panorama.Sprog16/02/2018
A wonderful short walk, from a good car park and up an easy, steep, snowy path all the way to the top. Gob-smacking views. This is a hill worth returning to, one of the best.Gill15/12/2017
With family as part of Ullapool week. From layby on B9176. As others have said the key is finding the good path that starts about 100 metres up the road. Very windy on top.benalder28410/04/2017

Very easy ascent via the path and a good hill with great views of the firth.jenx23/03/2016
With Jenx from the layby on B9176, just under the ridge line. Good path all the way through heather. Fine summit with extensive views of the Dornoch Firth. My 999th Scottish Marilyn.nordicstar23/03/2016
The path from the B9176 is not shown on OS maps but is considerably better than many paths which are shown on OS maps. The main problem is locating the start of the path, it's 100 metres up the road from the parking area mentioned by other logs and it begins with a small ditch. It gets steep near the top.Topographer5723/08/2015

Very easy, at a bend (A836)there is a convenient park spot just before where the trees grown in a line up the hill. walk a few meters along the road and find the start of a track which takes you all the way to the top.tallblond06/06/2014

Parked at NH 6832 8572. Comms mast access track to the ridge line then SW to Struie. With Mrs G in pre-tump bagging days. ***1 Apr 2018 re-ascent: With Carole Engel, parking at NH 6505 8496. Narrow track leads up through gorse starting NH 65105 85068 - miss it and it looks extremely cruel. Last hill of the day.jonglew17/05/2010
