4/10 from/to Kerrera ferry pier on a sunny but cold day with a keen NE wind. From the summit (The peak of the loch, of the glen ..) I studied the view of the forest across the reservoir and changed my plan as to how best to tackle the remaining 6 rough hills, to minimise forest fights. Decided to go clockwise going N across the dam which would mean later on descending through the forest from Cnoc Cologin to the reservoir head, 3 tumps from now. This would be the crux section of my circular route and I reasoned this would be less soul destroying than clawing upwards -and the potential achilles heel (achilles hell?) of my 10 hill link circuit. When it came to it I 'lucked out' as I found fire breaks which aligned near enough with my compass bearing to help me escape the gloomy forest. Back to this hill - west descent through snagging, scratching dead bracken grabbing my legs then fortuitous tussocky hidden fire break upwards mercifully to the forest free summit of Creag Bhan.Chris Pearson12/11/2023

After 'Cnoc na Cùlaige'. Along ridge over rough pasture with some animal and ATV tracks. Sunnier now than earlier. Ben More on Mull just visible, but view more northwards towards Loch Linnhe. Twin peaks of Cruachan shining white under sunlit snow above cloud obscuring lower slopes. Back down to Gallanach Beg as on July 2015 visit, then into Oban by Glenshellach Road and Albany Street.mainnirnamfiadh19/01/2019
