Return visit to see hill following removal of trees. After frustration at 18675 Cnoc Fraoich SW (q.v.). From bend about 8548 2519 south-westwards up track and rightwards at two junctions on to rough new forestry track leading almost to summit. Last short stretch over usual forestry detritus. Sunshine and cloud, with occasional brief drizzle. Would be great viewpoint in good weather, but dull and hazy this day. Back down to bend about 8548 2519, then directly to Kilbride/Lerags by faint track, and minor road to A816 for bus.mainnirnamfiadh29/09/2020
Obvious rock outcrop above brash- but luckily there's a forestry to within 10 m of the summit currently. Trees all felled . You can park for a donation at the interesting Kilbride church ruins to the N at Lerags- track all the way.Denise 17/03/2020
Forest road to col at NM8544,2433 then rough heavy vehicle track to within a few metres of summit. Much easier than expected. The S outcrop is the highest.RichardM17/03/2020
After NE top. Initial section from bealach through unpleasant forestry débris, then steep but easier going between comfortably-spaced trees to mini-ridge on summit. Current forestry operations on ridge running south-west from Cnoc Fraoich SW Top, so Càrn Breagach main top safe — for the moment. Sunshine visible through trees, but otherwise no view. Back to bealach and north-eastwards at main track into current logging area for more direct route to Kilbride/Lerags via Cnoc Fraoich SW Top.mainnirnamfiadh04/08/2018
6th tump of 14 on a 23km route from the A816 to Soroba, climbing Fair Coillich, Barr Leathan, Cnoc Fraoich, Cnoc Fraoich SW top and Carn Breaugach NE top, descending w, SW, then SE, SW and Nw to climb to a rocky mini-ridge topped with moss. I recorded 157m @ NM 85241 24085. I was fascinated by the antics of the birds, presumably Crossbills at the very top of the spruce, every 30 seconds or so another fir cone would bounce down and hit the forest floor. Nice atmospheric top, at the moment..Continuing NW to Am Buth...Dazingdale07/05/2018
I used the road making for Ardoran then went directly up south east from the corner to join the higher track. A logging track now extends to the col between the two summits. The NE Top has been clear felled and is hard work indeed. At the present time, the main top remains tree covered but that may not last long. An easy enough pull up through mature, open trees to a grassy and rocky mini ridgeColin Crawford14/04/2017
