Aaah Knockstapple... Even the name is enchanting.. Exquisitely delightful little hill... Up a track following hoof prints then left up a grassy ride between pine trees then left into a darker pine needle carpetted ride of serene beauty with the song of one solitary bird that gently curved right and gently rises to come out into the sunlight of a grassy secluded secret summit, surrounded by pine trees. Very special... Back down the pine needle strewn Avenue there was a solitary cuckoo calling. All making for a rather magical 30-40 minute walk... Very special little hill | vegibagger | 24/05/2023 |
Parked just off the Main road with easy track across burn then up and around, through woodland and out into summit pasture with high point. Return route through woodland and then into open field with a few electric/bw fences to negotiate then a river crossing, all to make the outing ab bit more exciting... | Dazingdale | 21/05/2023 |
From W, parked at start of track, followed mapped tracks then easy open plantation, HP in clearing | RHW | 20/05/2023 |
Parked just into entrance for Glenkerran (NR 6918 1208). Track over new bridge then ~170m further along before heading E. Up through trees to a nice clear summit. | jonglew | 19/05/2023 |
