From centre of Oban, up to road bend where a path goes up from bench into Woodlands Trust land, past 86m spot height and just off path to HP. Onto Cnoc Carnach.PeterD22/03/2023
Cnoch Carnach and Barra Mor from NM 8524 3099.summitsup07/10/2022
From Kerrera Terrace past playground and turn left at the col. straight up and the summit is off the left of the track. Headed down SW to pick another track which heads down and comes out at WitchwoodcHouse. Turn left along the road and come out on a road by the cathedral.Adrian12/09/2022
1/2 From the sea front we walked through castle paths and up the woodland to summit of Barra Mor then continued north down paths to come out on meadows near to Cnoc Carnach which was easy to climb on paths from the South. Absolutely lovely views over to Mull and back towards Ben Nevis and all the Glen Etive hills - great for a little afternoon walk after the ferry arrived.nickywood124/04/2022
From Cnoc Carnoch and a SW descent to the road. Good tracks through beautiful woods.sclater16/01/2021
Gully at end of Laggan Road into beautiful mixed woodland. Picked up a path not on the old orienteering map which led close to the birch covered summit. All woodland white with little undergrowth. Descent on path to bealach and Kerrera Terrace. Enjoyed the painted lady invasion of the gardens.fasgadh30/07/2019
Nice evening walk, bluebells were in full bloom.hillsman01/05/2019
Enticed out after lunch by cold but calm Ne'er-Day sunshine to revisit my nearest Tumps. From home via Bealach an Rìgh and Kerrera Terrace to just past play park, then leftwards over stile and up footpath (much more visible than on previous visit) leading south of crest of ridge and thus avoiding fallen trees. Slightly more view because trees in winter undress. Back down path to col and onwards to Cnoc Càrnach.mainnirnamfiadh01/01/2019
Out of the hostel, turn left; 1st left up Corran Brae; and 1st left again along an un-named road - 250m to obvious ascent point steeply up through woodland. The 86m spot height tricksie as it's not the top.jonglew25/07/2018
After Cnoc Carnach. Open deciduous bluebell woodlandvegibagger22/05/2018
5th tump of 12 today on a 23.8km route from Connel to SYHA Oban, climbing Dun Clachach, Creag an Lubhair, Ganavan Hill (south top) and Cnoc Carnach, where I stopped for lunch before heading down steeply to a track then up through the attractive moss-draped beech and birch woodland. I spent a few minutes wandering around before recording 96m @ NM 85569 31219 and 94m @ NM 85562 31215. I headed NE to descend to a track that heads to the cemetary and the Sewage works continuing to Clach na-h Ealtainne....Dazingdale06/05/2018
Lovely deciduous forest with mixed beech, fir and birch, leaves just unfurling. Indistinct HP within birch with mossy under storey and hanging lichen. Sun and showersDenise 26/04/2018
Early morning bag straight up from war memorial/ park entrance. Summit covered in windblown timber.Thearlaichdubh16/03/2017
Turn left exiting the SYH and head up the hill. Could be awful after rain, thankfully dry!Play2End21/01/2017

After over seven years living in Oban it was high time to make a first visit to the nearest Tump! Also a domestic way of marking what would have been my parents' 70th wedding anniversary, as opposed to marking their 60th with my 60th New Donald. From home over the Bealach an Rìgh to the col behind the Kerrera Terrace play park and the gate just beyond. Across the fence here and up through the wood to the top. Fallen trees made progress interesting and standing ones meant no view, but still, a pleasant stroll on a sunny afternoon. Back the same way (more or less). Nice too to be able to go without a rucksack and just a wee bit chocolate in your pocket.mainnirnamfiadh08/09/2015
Cliffs on W side but easy paths from SSW, nice wooded hill. Then NE to Carnach. Parking can be tricky if a busy evening and Dunollie car park already closed.RHW11/06/2015
After Cnoc Carnach. Steep descent to west. Who cares which tussock is the summit amongst the trees?Martin R08/06/2015
P Kerrera Terrace by play park. Style onto Barra Mor then track and grass to Cnoc Carnach.chrisbien08/06/2015
