Leccamore Dun, well worth the wee climb.DavieRuts04/06/2023
Top 2m of hill is manmade, albeit a long time ago... Leccamore and Furachail from large layby at NM 7435 1111. Steep climbs and floaty bogs, engaging terrain.RHW18/05/2023
Return visit to record summit GR. Walked southwards from ferry slip to cattle grid at summit of road, then leftwards on track to cut corner to Ardinamir road. This road to junction about 7538 1193, then southwards on track to about 7539 1159, then rightwards up lighter track to reach ridge near Tobar na Suil. Southwards on short grass along ridge to Dùn Leccamore. Broken cloud but dry, though ground very wet from heavy rain earlier in week. Very hazy view to Scarba, Garvellachs, and Mull. Had negative experience on previous visit on direct route across grain of country from Binnein Furachail, so returned to Ardinamir road before continuing to BF. Should have retraced route along ridge, but dropped north-eastwards to old track as in 2015. This was a mistake, as track now in places wet, vestigial, and unloved - perhaps because area to east newly fenced off.mainnirnamfiadh22/10/2021
With Rosaidh and Luna on trip to Seil, Luing and EasdaleBigNick29/09/2018
With Nick on trip to the Isles of Seil, Luing and Easdale. Stayed in converted lifeboat. Cool ruins at the summit (unless the summit is the far end of the ridge - apparently this is debatable. The other end is easier to access, but the ruins make the longer walk worth it).Rosaidh29/09/2018
Dropped off at S end of Luing by Farsain Cruises. With Darren Giddings, Adrian Rayner and Charles Everett. Walked the length of the island picking up all the tumps. From Aird Luing, and on to Binnein Furachail.jonglew17/05/2018
Fabulous sunny day walk up island of Luing with Jon Glew, Darren Giddins, & Adrian Rayner. Five TuMPs plus tidal island Eilean Torsa.. Second tumpvegibagger17/05/2018
2nd tump of 10, the first 6 with Charles Everett, Jon Glew and Adrian Rayner having been dropped off via Dinghy courtesy of Farsain Cruises, we headed to Aird Luing then by good track to Kilchatton, veering off for Leccamore to climb upto the Dun, I recorded 86m @ NM 75089 10788 & NM 75084 10787. We had a wee break here before continuing on the ridge to the North top, recording 88m @ NM 75213 11271 so it seems the North top is the highest, onwards to Beinnein Furachail...Dazingdale17/05/2018
Impressive hill fort with several rings of ditches and grass covered stone walls. Entrances through walls to N and S, with steps from a chamber to a HP. Actual HP was outcropping rock. We then walked c 1 km N along the ridge and decided this was probably just higher ( but less interesting) . Valley to the west is wet and boggy- beware if you anticipate dry feet.Denise 19/04/2018
You'd hardly imagine from the map that so much rough and convoluted ground separates this one from its neighbour. The dun (broch?) was a fine reward though. Return to the road, through flooded flats, was pretty unpleasantColin Crawford13/04/2017
After Binnein Furchail. Very rough cut across terrain. Boggy etc. Dun is fine piece of architecture. Then back over very rough ground to car parked to WThearlaichdubh13/03/2017
Reached the ridge north of the dùn across rough and boggy ground due eastwards from Binnein Furachail. South along ridge to summit: considerable ruins of dùn. Descent north-eastwards to pick up track leading to Ardinamair road, then roads back to ferry at South Cuan.mainnirnamfiadh18/04/2015
