From The String (good parking beside weather station) initially on wet grassy ATV track then gentle hillside to the summit with prominent white painted trig point. Shallow cutting on E side of summit has the last 2 digits of pre 2000 years cut neatly in the rock. Great views of the Arran mountains to the N. Sunshine and squalls of rain.RichardM16/11/2017
Bus to top of string road , then simple walk avoiding peat hags. On to Cul na Creagan. Low cloud.Thearlaichdubh18/06/2017
Top of String to Brodick.Smudge10/02/2017
My penultimate hill of the day on a route from High Dougarie to Brodick over 8 hills, climbing Beinn Lochain, Cnoc Choire A' Moir, Garb Thorr, Ard Bheinn, Beinn Bhreac and A'Chruach, cutting across the Allt Calaman (to fill up water bottle) to profile around the slopes of Cnoc Dubh and then dropping down to the String through the mixed conifer forest (very steep) I should have continued further on according to my plan but it was good fun in the end to emerge from nowhere onto the string. I walked up before climbing over the Deer Fence and then used a track to ascend halfway up. Ground became increasingly boggier but Trig at the top is clean and bright!Dazingdale07/05/2016
