From Dubston, circuit of Lord Arthur's Hill, Edinbanchory Hill, Brux Hill and Clova Hill. Great views and easy walking on mostly good tracks. Had intended to include Manabattack Hill but track branching off at 545201 not apparent on ground and fenced off. | rjf35 | 02/01/2020 |
We parked at the entrance to Dubston and set off on a counter clockwise circuit of the Correen Hills. The path to Clova Hill is delightful, passing an old quarry en route, and only leaving the path for the last couple of hundred metres to the trig. A grassy path continues around Badingair Hill then SW on to Brux Hill and Edinbanchory Hill before a sharp turn eastwards up to Lord Arthur's Hill. An ATV track leads to Black Hill then a short section over heather joins another track to a brand new deer and rabbit fence skirting Manabattock. Fortunately there is a gate at the end of this track, allowing access over heather and through open woodland to a small stone summit cairn. Made it back to Dubston by following the deer fence northwards. About 3.5 hrs to do the whole circuit. | summitter | 13/10/2019 |
This hill forms part of a wonderful circular walk from Terpesie, mainly on easy grassy tracks, though Brux Hill needs a short off piste heather bash away from the track. Best done anticlockwise via Correen Quarry and finishing with the splendid Lord Arthur's Hill, which gives fine views on the way down. | Gill | 23/03/2019 |
