Somewhat tricky given recent storm damage. We approached from the Forest Road to the SW. A straightforward sortie through mature Sitka to start with but then a wall of upturned root-plates denied easy access to the heathery summit dome. Some clambering and ducking eventually got us through the morass and that seemed to be that. However, we foolishly decided to descend to the track north of the hill, not realising that it was equally littered with fallen trunks and limbs to negotiate. We eventually gave up, retracing our route back over the hill to make sure we got back to the van before dusk dropped its darkening veil.summitter28/09/2023
Currently, post Storm Arwen, the summit area is probably best accessed from the west side.Matt03/03/2023
