Solo following mainly the obvious WH route, from a now decent sized car park created by the wind farm works (by the bridge over the Allt an Chraisg), but with a diversion over the Simm of Craig an Lochain on the way.DampandDusty06/08/2023
Very straightforward beautiful hill. Very pleased to see it in good conditions.Nicky C17/08/2022
Parked at layby near Vagastie bridge area taken over by wind farm construction. Told off by security guard for wind farm and had to move car onto a farm track. Path all the way, very boggy in places. Small wind shelter & two destroyed trigs at summit. Cloud and drizle all the way. Descended same way .Lazylizzie06/08/2022
Revisit. Munro 118 Rnd2. Crossed the river and went up Druim na Glas-choille and then Meall nan Uan. Steep climb up onto the ridge then good path to summit. Solo. Walked down with Linda, who I met on the summit.Dangerous Dave27/07/2022
Parked at layby NC528266 as Vagastie bridge area taken over by wind farm construction. Walk 500 m down road to start of track at bridge Ie NC532227. Path all the way, boggy in places, especially cols. Ascend steep grassy slope to prominent cairn on Cnoc Sgriodain, then descend 60 m to col, then NE to Creag an Lochain. Descend 160m of height north , suddenly in wintry cloud, before final steep rubbly ascent east to summit ridge. Small wind shelter, two destroyed trigs. Cloud cleared for extensive windy views. HP -rock outcrop on ridge near trigs. Descend same way but traverse west of Creag an Lochain on excellent path at 680m. 1030 m of ascent, 11 miles round trip.Denise 26/07/2022
Last munro. Stayed in Crask Inn. Done with Maggie, Sam carrying Lucas (aged 3), Deepa carrying Sofia (aged 1 year), Sally, Roy and Peter, Drew, and Jacqueline. Liz offering support from coffee houses.Initial low cloud burnt off to leave warm sunny summit. Excellent day celebrated with bubbles.dave neilson23/04/2022
With Pete. Parked on the A836 at NC 536288 to cross the bridge over the river at NC 537288. Followed Fèith Bad an Loch up towards Loch Bad an Loch, then headed steeply upwards to reach the cairn at NC 561274. Contoured around Creag an Lochain at 680m on a good quality path which we followed along the ridge to the summit. Returned the same way. Initial approach up to the cairn is horrible pathless bog with wide rivers.millionmts08/08/2021

We tried start point recommended by Cameron McNiesh at NC545303, but the River Vagastie was in spate so could not find a crossing w/o getting wet feet at start of walk. We did see a fb to the south driving back to camp later that evening. We elected for the standard start point at Vagastie Bridge which was also rejected due to fear of encroaching on passing place, so we went to the car park near the Mackay Country stone 500m further SW along the A836. Followed boggy track over Cnoc Sgriodain down to next col. Chose to avoid extra ascent over Creag an Lochain contouring along the 680m contour but confronted with energy sapping knee deep snow over A'Chioch to final col at 747m. Final steep 200m ascent up W side of Ben Klibrek would have been easy enough had it not taken 5hrs to cover the 4.5 miles to get there. Tough slog to summit, trig pillar buried under a massive snow drift. Return same way. Late 21:13 finish. An exhausting, satisfying day covering 10.35 miles in 9hrs 24minsmntainman07/05/2021
A second ascent of Ben Klibreck, this time from the East in fine weather which gave a fine walk along virtually the whole ridge. Biked from tent about 3 miles east of Loch Choire then straight up to Meall Ailean, along the ridge to Meall nan Con and on to Creagan Lochain and the unnamed to beyond. Then, once I had found the line an easy drop down from near the end of the ridge to the loch side path and the long but pleasant loch side walk back to the bike. A long but excellent walk for a fine day.dickscroop10/08/2020

From Vagastie NC535283. IMPORTANT NOTE: the bridge here is due to be removed. The bridge at 537289 will remain. Nb the building at 538288 has been completely removed. Met farmer who is restoring the plot to a more natural state. KeithByTheC23/04/2019

Go past the Crask inn for 2 miles to a humpback bridge. The path starts here and goes up the nose to a 544m spot height. Follow path up and at 650m you see a path cut under the hill and will traverse the hill for 2km. From thus bealach it's about 1.4km and 250m of ascent with a steep pull. Nice sunny, cool day. EXCEPT 3 minutes before the top it rained heavy. I sheltered next to the broken trig point until the sun came out again a few minutes later. Horrible wet, slippery ascent up A'Chioch west grass slope and rock band. Descended much further south. Only found out later there was a bridge further south - Doh.Jhimmy28/08/2015

Left Aberdeen at 8.30 and was walking by 12.30. Parked about a mile and half north of the bridge and forded the river and crossed moor on good path. River would be difficult to cross in spate. Steep climb up to the shoulder and stiff wind on the way up ( and no view on the top) . About 2.20 to the top and back at the car 2 hrs later. A better hill than I'd thought and would be fun in snow.slynch02/10/2010

The usual Ben Klibreck route from the A836 with Smithy on an overcast but clear & very windy day. Creag an Lochain first, then Meall nan Con. Had some fun on the top by leaning into the westerly gale using the waterproof jacket as a sail. Near the bottom on the descent, a Nimrod suddenly appeared from behind the hill & flew down the strath, banked so far over, it seemed that a crash was inevitable. It wasn't!NotReallyABagger02/09/2002
Lots of snow down and a great climb up. Cloud perched on summit. I repeated this on 15/02/2012 with Martin Stewart as his ancestors once walked around here and for his 50th we came up to do Hope and Klibreck. Camped at strath naver were his ancestors lived.
