Parked at the Borrobol turn on the A897. Considered biking up the track but too wet and windy. Excellent track to the west end of Loch Ascaig, ATV track to the loch inflow bridge, then easy grassy terrain to the summit. Descended easily NE over Windy Hill to the loch outflow bridge and back to the track, wind and rain now behind me. Straightforward and quicker than expected hill for a grotty afternoon.Owen B21/09/2023
Cycled to boats, crossed bridge, pretty dry underfoot. Easy hill - long drive!iangalbraith21/04/2023
From road end to Borrobol Lodge. Track then drop to eastern end of Lochan and bridge crossing outflow. Up Windy Hill then summit via AVT most of the way. Exceptionally dry underfoot.N.Morters27/06/2021
Cycled to Loch Ascaig boathouse from Borrobol road end. Headed south to top, felt longer than it looked on map.willyross11/06/2021

From Borrobol road end to West end of Loch Ascaig. Great wee bridge, then dry underfoot all the way to the summit. Very breezy today.NormanW18/07/2020
Good parking at the entrance to Borrobol. Along the track past Cnoc Dubh, down a bit to a large fisherman's parking area above the NW end of Loch Ascaig. An ATV track leads down to the loch shore (beached boats) then a rough path to the bridge. Lots of snow melt had filled the loch, bridge not quite submerged but the bogs on the other side were deeper than the tops of my boots. Interminable, gruesomely boggy trudge up the hill to the steep bit, then heather, followed by more bogs and tussocks across the summit plateau. Found ATV track to return, only visible on the way down, which leads to a rushy bog further west than the bridge. Beware very deep channel though easily hopped; these bogs much less wet than those by the bridge. Estate owner waiting in landrover, had been watching concerned, as he had previously lost a cow in those bogs! Nice bloke, manages and operates the estate himself. He gave me a lift back to the level crossing.Gill13/03/2020

An easy bike road across bridge, level crossing, and over small hill to loch. Over the little bridge, close by loch end, which was very handy over deep river there. Then straight up to top. Quite easy.jenx26/03/2016
With bikes loosely stashed after the Cnoc we rode on past Borrobol lodge and onto NW end of Loch Ascaig. Good ATV track down to loch shore and bridge over burn. ATV line carries on up hill to approx 260m then good going to summit, if a little steep in places. Weather beginning to break for us.nordicstar26/03/2016
walked along track over railway and turned for the hill at the end of the lochan. Back via Windy Hill.AndrewFinnimore27/09/2014
Park on the road nr the new bridge and walk along the track for 45 min when you see the end of the loch, make your way up the hill from there.tallblond07/06/2014

From the Craggie Road to the south. Easy moorland with little feel of being on a hill. Wind farmers busy trashing land to the south, so a bit of a last chance to see job.fasgadh29/07/2011
Revisit. From NE, footbridge near Loch Ascaig outflow, fairly boggy approach on a wet windy day.RHW23/05/2011

Parked on road at entrance to Borrobol Lodge. Crossed the river and railway - one train going south. Footprints on road to find a small bridge crossing the stream flowing into Loch Ascaig at its west end. Uphill on dryish moor to heather areas and green patches. No deer, grouse or sheep. To sloping top of hill - column about 1/2 mile ahead. To trig 6874 at 11.20. No cairn. Rain came on.arranc25/05/2009
