Incorporated into an extra in the Walkhighlands Dunecht/Barmakin Hill circuit. The small tree plantation mentioned by others is now 8 to 10 feet tall in places. Follow the track running roughly west to east on the south side of the hill and just beyond the high point there is a section where the trees are not pines. A small track towards the summit seems to be developing there. Given the visibility and not having a GPS, which stump is the summit is anyone's guess. We toured a range of likely contenders as well as the attempt at a small cairn we came across.sarahk04/03/2023

Cycle ride from Culter on a cold day. Did both summits - northern summit seemed to be in someone's back yard - felt a bit intrusive but no one around....govanah29/03/2020
Twilight ascent -with the beautiful clear sky stretching the useable light by 10 more minutes - just what I needed to pick a way through the short stretch of young christmas trees. Overhead flocks of geese were also eeking out the day - only now coming in to splash down at nearby Loch Skeene - to join the other 10000 geese or so for the night-always room for a few more.Chris Pearson09/01/2020
Visited both tops. The trees on the south one have been forested and replanted with firs.hill walker05/09/2017
Barmekin Hill route from walkhighlands.co.uk with slight diversion for Hill of Easter Echt. 'Difficult to pick' path up Barmekin from south now has wooden signpost. Very scenic evening run.nix_snilloc11/08/2017
