Second visit to the Head w Jenx on an even better day. Great time to visit with all the nesting birds. Puffins slways a delight. Good to see the lighthouse engines and equipment in great nick. A marked contrast to that gear remaining on wee cumbrae.nordicstar06/06/2016

Windy morning for a walk to the lighthouse and a view of the Puffins with Tricky Speirs.Dugswell227/05/2013
W Jenx. First hill on Shetland adventure 2013. V windy, construction work at lighthouse and approach road. Lot of dust in air. Nice lighthouse, seabirds amazing views. As well as puffins there were gannets, guillemots, cormorant, many gulls inc fulmar and think couple of kittewake. Bumped into Tricky and Doug as we were going down, tried to keep up with us all fortnight! ;-)nordicstar27/05/2013
After Fitful Head and JarlshofThearlaichdubh09/05/2013
A fascinating day walk with Lesley using buses down and back from Lerwick -hills, cliffs and beaches -so much to see - puffins up close (now on web cams); One of Robert Stephenson's 15 lighthouses-now a 'world class visitor centre' (plus cafe) - there are even occasional soundings of the fog horn! We had a go at a prehistoric marble game down at Jarlshof prehistoric site then after a slightly worrying crossing of the traffic light controlled runway on foot (no lingering) a lovely sandy beach walk around to tackle Fitful Head, with more worry from the air, dodging the skuas. No sign of any remains of The Braer which hit rocks in Cro Geo after engine failure breaking up causing an oil spill of 85,000 tons of light crude. Even the sheep were speckled with oil blown in on the sea spray. http://www.shipwrecklog.com/log/history/mt-braer/Chris Pearson26/05/2009
