Loads of fences on the map didn't bode well. Had to gingerly balance on top of a couple of barbies to go over plus also deal with electrics. Prepared with foam pipe insulators that I'd brought in my rucksack for the very purpose.vegibagger07/09/2022
Verge parking by gates to shed and cabin in compound. Grassy track alongside to fields. 4 electric fences to negotiate, along with some gorse and nettles. First 3 fences are easy. Near summit climb at corner using concrete post and strainers.Minto10/08/2022
From Carrick House after visiting Red Head, using a still existing old quarry road from HY572374, only one annoying electric fence to scale. Mind you, I had to shimmy under another wire near the summit mound - just as well that I'm fairly slim. Then down to meet an old peat track at HY577366Colin Crawford07/08/2022
Parked roadside to NW. Took mapped track up past disused quarry. Lots of abandoned vehicles.jonglew06/08/2022
Parked near road end to NNW. Gorse, coos and an electric fenceThearlaichdubh23/09/2021
Track from NW then 3 gates, avoids electric fence which is N side. 15mi RT on foot from ferry including 4 OSBMs none of which I found; my final Eday P30 on sunny day with a stiff headwind on returnRHW30/07/2018
After Vinquoy Hill. Up track from end of B9063 towards Springfield, then over fields to top. Summit guarded by fence with electrical insulators and low-level wires to discourage leaping rabbits and crawling hill-baggers. Back down the same way, then driven to Fersness Hill. Warm but hazy sunshine, with stiff breeze.mainnirnamfiadh16/08/2016
Parked at Orkney Water shed and used gateways to access the moorland summit with Jim Blooker, Richard Tibbetts and Tricky Speirs.Dugswell228/05/2014
