#688 After the pot-holes! | tim747 | 22/05/2023 |
Beautiful walk through birch forest from roadhead at Arnish | Clive G | 11/05/2023 |
No rushing on Raasay, the roads are poor. 'Calum's Road' deteriorates N of Bochel, wheels spinning for grip on steep sections of crumbled and potholed tarmac, to end of public road at Arnish (good parking). Waymarked good FPs to bealach NG601499, but knolls and pools ensure that no two people take the same route from the col to the summit. | Isbjorn | 20/02/2023 |
Day after Dun Caan summit camp with JP, Allan, Dean and Colin. | nathan79 | 27/08/2022 |
Enjoyed the drive along Callum’s Road. Good track past the impressive buttress. Easy slopes to summit trig. Good views between showers. | N.Morters | 19/08/2022 |
A rare family bag with Sal, Zoë and Cihan. Pity to be in mist on such a low hill without hoped for views. | davechaffey | 19/10/2021 |
Third visit, clearing up adjoining Tumps. Superb views over a cloud inversion at low level, Eilean Tighe and Rona just poking their heads above the mist | Colin Crawford | 19/09/2020 |
On path from parking area at end of the road at Arnish. | Winterfloodian | 09/09/2020 |
Here for the trigpoint. TP:UK log:

Walked from Arnish Cottage to Fladday and then onto trigpoint. Very midgey on the top, couldn't wait around long. Stunning views. | thejackrustles | 17/08/2020 |
A lovely walk from the road end at Arnish on a good path then a short stroll to the top of the hill. Back the same way to the Fladday path junction, then down and across to the island. Back on the coast path, which has been cleared recently and is now an easy and beautiful stroll. Tea and cake at Raasay House before the ferry. | Gill | 01/10/2019 |
3 of 3: From roadend CP at Arnish. With David. | ChrisR | 29/04/2019 |
From the end of Calums road at Arnish. A good path then an easy climb up to the summit in clear conditions. 90 minute solo. | bolton | 02/10/2018 |

with NB ashore from nearest West Bay. | Frank | 23/07/2017 |
From Boat moored at the anchorage next to Fladda. Good path with way makers to col due south of summit, then cross country to top with FR. | Bheinn | 23/07/2017 |
M O MH MHA HH BH IS DS. From Arnish through beautiful Autumnal birch woodland to collect high point. Great views of Rona in bright sun and back to Dun Caan. | Martin66 | 04/11/2016 |
Hot, sunny, calm, good views. | iangalbraith | 09/05/2016 |
With Jenx at Marhofn 2015. From col high point direct across broken rockscape in mist to Beinn na h-Iolaire. | nordicstar | 12/06/2015 |
Park tidily at the end of the public road in Arnish. Follow the left hand track out of the car park down towards the sea. Continue along the track through a gate until you reach a house at NG 5966 4874. Keep right onto the uphill track heading north. At NG 5970 4977 keep straight ahead. Shortly afterwards the path turns right and climbs to a col. At this point you are on your own. Head north across the open hillside for around 350M to the summit. | geralddavison | 24/03/2015 |
Along path from parking area. One of the more memorable Marilyns! | AndrewFinnimore | 13/05/2014 |
With Mrs G. Driving to the furthest point possible on Raasay involved nearly 2 miles of Calum's Road. The path onwards was good and easy to follow until we veered off to bag this small 254m Marilyn when it was a yomp over heather and gorse covered slopes. Great views to the north over Isle of Rona and westwards to The Storr on Skye. | jonglew | 16/05/2012 |
Deliberately chose an offbeat route to summit. You mean you got lost? No, no it's just I find finger posts and gravel paths oppressive. The drive seemed wilder. Hey, the sun shone, for a while. Great views. | Martin R | 02/03/2012 |
From Torran with RichatdM and Denise | Topographer57 | 04/06/2011 |
From Arnish with Jonathan Woods, Chris Watson and Jim Bloomer on a lovely afternoon before walking over to Eilean Fladday at low tide to pick up it's high point. | Dugswell2 | 03/06/2011 |
petey | 04/05/2011 | |
End of road at Arnish over two miles built by Donald MacLeod - Calum's Road. To Torran and on well kept path and a final scramble up by rocks to Vanessa 9733 at 11.45. | arranc | 06/10/2007 |
Revisit. Perfect morning, fine compact rocky summit, gorgeous view. Calum's Road (which he built single-handed over 10 years - cute pig-themed road signs), then good track as mapped. With Stewart, Alan and Richard | RHW | 01/10/2007 |
Path from end of public road | Geoff Briggs | 31/05/2005 |
Drove the length of Calum?s road to a point just above Arnish. From this point walked along the track that was once the main thoroughfare to the Island of Rona. Near the highest point left the track to reach the trig. | garyhoney | 06/04/2002 |
En route to Taigh Thormoid Dhuibh bothy. | Eddie | 31/08/2000 |
