Sgurr nan Eag and Sgurr Dubh Mor with Harrison and Bethany. Roasting hot day added a extra challenge, and Bethany decided to skip Dubh Mor and wait in Coire Ghrunnda for us to return. Was glad to get back to Glenbrittle (where I just about emptied the campsite shop of cold drinks).mproudfoot05/06/2022

OMC Meet at Glenbrittle campsite, with Karen Webber and Andy Moffat. The hike into Coira' Ghrunnda was fine until a navigational mishap required a rope over a slightly exposed step well to the left of the burn. From the coire up to Sgurr nan Eag was steep but ok then along the ridge. Sunny all day with views of Rum, Canna, Muck, Eigg and Mull, western islea just visible in the haze. Once back in coire the coastguard helicopter buzzed us twice then landed as a training exercise, amazing.chillyman829/04/2022

Solo fr car parked by Glen Brittle campsite, mostly running on improved path to Coir' a' Ghrunnda then scrambled up here. Tops all clear with a light dusting of snow, but rather hazy.NorfolkPT2108/04/2019
From Glenbrittle camp site, via moorland paths to foot of SW flank. An initial 'barrier' of iced-up slabs at the start of the SW flank was passed approximately centrally, then 2,000 feet of snow covered unstable boulders and scree, interspersed with slabs coated with ice. Lots of 'dead' ground above, meaning some route choices had to be reversed once what was in the dead ground was revealed. If there is an 'obvious' zig-zag scree path, I saw no signs of it. Route finding was not half so difficult coming back down, but care had to be taken to locate the passage back through the icy slabs barrier. Not a route I wish to repeat.Isbjorn Winter Round18/01/2019

Sgurr Dubh Mor & Sgurr nan Eag from Glen Brittle via the SMC guidebook route. Got to Sgurr Dubh an Da Bheinn easily enough but had to mess about a bit finding an easy way up Sgurr Dubh Mor. Left a couple of markers to help find the same way down, then back round to Sgurr nan Eag which was easier. Simple enough descent although my knees & ankles thought otherwise! Part of a walk/scramble from Glen Brittle via Coir' a' Ghrunnda. We had been on Sgurr Dubh Mor earlier- we thought it a finer summit despite it not even being a Hump. The whole day was absorbing and demanding and the view from Sgurr nan Eag, especially to the Thearlich-Dubh gap, was magnificent. With brother, Pete. Fine with sunny afternoon.pwheeler19/05/1998

With Jon and Simon. Glorious afternoon ascent followed by Sgurr Dubh Mor. Ben Nevis visible from the summit.mikejacobs05/08/1995
my first ascent, 2 in party, climbed from the mem hut, started late on day of arrival - as it was a sunny day! scrambled up into the core then stopped for a break & a bit to eat on the minor top, descended to the loch an then scrambled up a stone chute/fault to the ridge and out to sgurr nan eag, returned down the ridge, great scrambling, turned a minor top and scrambled up onto sgurr dubh beag, then down to the col and scrambled up through ledges etc to the tiny summit of sgurr dubh mor. returned again to sgurr dubh beag and made a direct descent to the coire, very steep scrambling / easy climbing and returned to glen brittle, very late.rum doodle 10/07/1995

Met a postman at the Camasunary Bothy. (more of a ruined house) He had 40' of rope, two slings and a pair of boots he had found in a hedge. He was looking for someone to do the Cuillin Ridge with him. So of course I signed up and off we went at 04:00 after fried egg sandwiches. He assured me that the bad step on the way up was the hardest bit...banksey19/05/1993

The Main Cuillin Ridge in 1 day. With Robin Howie. We left Glen Brittle Camp Site at 03:30. We went too far along the path to Coiruisg so a little time was lost. We reached the main ridge a little on the seaward side of Gars-bheinn. There was a superb view in the early morning sun on reaching the ridge looking towards Coiruisg. Gars-bheinn was reached at 06:25; we left the summit at 06:35 and on to Sgurr nan Eag, Caisteal a’ Garbh-Choire, and Sgurr Dubh na Da Bheinn. Time was lost in Thearlaich-Dubh gap. We abseiled down into the gap and climbed up the other side. We continued and succeeded in reaching Sgurr nan Gillean at 23:00.pwbellarby20/06/1986

Several ascents. Always, as with the first, from Glenbrittle, via Coir' a'Ghrunnda. This was in perfect conditions. Ascent 24/03/1989 in icy conditions with crampons essential. Heard a noise about 1.30, which I thought was a stone fall. On descent into Coir' a'Ghrunnda realised someone had fallen off Sgurr Alasdair. Stayed with him and comforted him until helicopter arrived. Later found out that he survived but with serious injuries.JohnW13/04/1981
