Straight up from Sligachen then round to Beinn Dearg Mhor and back to car | justin999 | 05/06/2023 |
The Red Cuillin ridge from Sligachan. Up the lovely Druim na Ruaige ridge to Beinn Dearg Mheadhonach then a quick down and back up Ciche na Beinne Deirge. Next the big boys ... Beinn Dearg Mhor and Glamaig before a descent to the A87 via An Coileach. Although a three mile walk back along the A87 to Sligachan was required due to no one picking up hitch-hikers any more, it did not spoil a fabulous walk. 6.5 hrs total. | summitter | 21/05/2023 |

Steeply from Slig with Moira on the way to Glen Brittle | ColB | 28/04/2022 |
17km in 5.5hrs. Lots of steep ups and downs and delightful sound of deer rutting en route back to the car. Glamaig, An Coileach, Beinn Dearg Mhor, Beinn Dearg Mheadhonach, Ciche na Beinne Deirge | Nicky C | 17/10/2021 |
On round of the western Red Hills | Rockdoctor | 06/10/2021 |
From layby at 4986 3061 east of Sligachan, walk east 250m along road to gate then short distance up track and up to west shoulder at about 600m. Very steep grass in places but almost all scree can be avoided. Thereafter there is scree but it is not too steep. A nice grassy summit with all round views. Afternoon hill fog forecast so retraced my GPS track back down. Fog did not materialise. Two days later I climbed Beinn Dearg Mhor from where there was a clear view of Sgurr Mhairi's south east ridge and was truly thankful that I did not attempt it! | Topographer57 | 27/06/2021 |
Direct from Sligachan Hotel. Brutal. Descended very steeply to Bealach na Sgairde. Some descent scree to slide down. | KeithByTheC | 17/09/2020 |

Sligachan to Sconser, taking in Being Dearg Mheadhonach, BD Mhor, Sgurr Mhairi + An Coileach. Windy but warm | clashcityrocker | 26/07/2019 |
Hill run | garbo1103 | 29/06/2019 |
Solo fr NE (over An Coileach). Glorious views! Blue skies and sunshine, lots of cloud to east. 8am to 10.15am in total. Had time to do other Skye Corbett but felt tired and opted instead to drive to Kinlochewe and set up camp at the free site at Taagan, which was perfect. No wind, no insects! | NorfolkPT21 | 11/04/2019 |
Early solo start in good conditions. Wet underfoot then a gruesome climb up the western side. Best to avoid the scree as much as possible - the grass is much easier. Great views. Headed to Dearg Mhor. | bolton | 05/10/2018 |
Best day of the week in Shiel Bridge. Did a circuit and walked back on the road. | iansm | 14/09/2018 |
With Sue from carpark on bend nr Slig. Very wet and windy worst day od trip to Islands. Followed river round to Coire na Sgai'rde and up from belach. difficult day to stand up on scree. Horizontal rain. | Frank | 09/09/2018 |

Very sunny, very hot, very steep scree - almost torture and brutality. Hazy views despite sun. | Jhimmy | 02/06/2018 |
Glamaig (Sgurr Mhairi) and An Coileach from A87 near Loch Sligachan. Cloudy, but bright day with some blue sky. | knarf | 25/04/2018 |
CK | SheilaS | 07/04/2018 |
From the road to the north and a very steep climb to the summit of An Coilleach then a pleasant walk along the ridge to the main summit, Sgurr Mhairi. Windy again so dropped back to bealach between the two, down easily to the west and worked our way to join the road at our start point. A good route back. | dickscroop | 28/09/2017 |
anticlockwise circuit from Sligachan south for 2.5 km up Allt na Measarroch, up north on to Ciche na Beinne Deirge, over Beinn Dearg Mheadhonach, BD Mhor, out to An Coileach and finally back along the beautifull grassy ridge to Glamaig summit, Sgurr Mhairi.... And maybe this is a surprising and perhaps a record.. All done in my Hunter wellies.. The heals didn't like the running down the final screes to The Slig. | vegibagger | 04/06/2017 |
Done with GHC from the Slig, very steep ascent form the bealach (1hr), but only 20mins back down the scree! | Play2End | 03/06/2017 |
On a round from Slig with Steve Smith. Nice scree run down to the col from BD Mhor and ascent not as step as perceived from the previous summit. On to the other end of Glamaig - An Coileach - before an interesting descent down Corie na h Airighe. | jonglew | 07/05/2017 |
On a very clear day ascended from west managing to avoid most of the scree. Carried on to then do Beinn Dearg Mhor & Beinn Dearg Mheadhonach | duchally | 18/06/2016 |

Final summit of Glamaig horseshoe from Sligachan. Steep, tiring ascent on scree from bealach, although fun on way down. In and out of cloud at summit, good views of Black Cuillin when out of cloud. | quadbarrel | 17/10/2013 |
MMC Skye weekend at Carbost Old Inn. Solo walk from Glamaig to Marsco.DK and Kevin did the reverse of my walk. Sunny and dry. Much of Black Cullin in whispy mist. 7 1/2 hours. | alexmaclennan | 14/09/2013 |
Week in Skye with Mum. Cloudy and wet all day so did the Beinn Deargs and Glamaig - fairly big walk! Lovely ascent up Druim na Ruaige, horrible scree coming off NW end of BD Mhor, Glamaig from the bealach only slightly better, then back down Allt Daraich for miserable bogtrot back to hotel. | Mark Jackson | 15/07/2013 |
R Glamaig Hill race 1hr 38 from Slig appalling weather, wind rain winning time 45 mins! Great experience | Richard Tait | 06/07/2013 |

BD Mheadhonach, BD Mhor and Glamaig from the Slig. From Mhor the ascent looked intimidating and only got worse after the knee-knackering descent to the bwlch. Worth the slog up though, phenomenal views over the coast. | Jake994 | 24/07/2008 |
With AP. Steep climb up from near Sconser. Quite windy but fantastic views. | douglas_easton | 13/07/2008 |

Parked below hill on Sligachan end. Quite a flog up. Descended via a subsidiary peak An Coileach and down scree. Nice day once the clag had lifted. | Aye Jimmy | 27/07/2001 |
Transcuillin attempt: Coruisk to Broadford. Peak #63. Bailed after An Coileach #64 when the storm hit, finished at A87 layby between 2 bridges (NG536265), 37.5mi, 28,500ft ascent. Beinn na Caillich #70 was the plan. | RHW | 18/07/2001 |
On Sconser-A'Coileach-Sgurr Mhairi-Beinn Dearg Mhor-Beinn Dearg Mheadhonach-Sligachan walk, with brother Pete. After a steep slog, this route of ascent gave a nice walk on the summit ridge of Glamaig to teach the highest point. Clear here, cloud on Black Cuillin. | pwheeler | 20/05/2001 |
MC JC. Scorchio! Hottest day yet of a hot week. Climbed steep west ridhe from Sligachan. Ran the scree down to the Beallach na Sgairde. My 50th Corbett. Celebratory pepperami on top! | Martin66 | 10/05/2001 |

Glamaig to conclude a fortnight in the Hebrides | RHW | 12/06/1993 |
From Sligachan. Seemingly vertical grass, moss and scree to top at 15.00. That Gurkha who ran up in 37 minutes either didn't have a watch, couldn't tell the time or didn't get to the top! I took 4 hours up and back. | arranc | 31/05/1992 |
Ascended from the Sligachan via Beinn Dearg Mheadhonach and Beinn Dearg Mhor. Descended west to return. | JohnW | 27/03/1989 |
Beinn Dearg Mheadhonach - Beinn Dearg Mhor - Glamaig round from The Slig. | Eddie | 29/07/1987 |
Camping at a busy 'new' campsite again at Slig.rainy start slowly cleared so with Colin & Dave went up Mheadhonach. The next climb up Beinn Dherh Mhor looked loose and nasty so stupidly we contoured across the loose shifting angular screes on west side of the hill to reach the Glamaig bealach with relief. I alone then attacked the 1100 feet of scree climb with relish up Glamaig. I tried to match the famous story of a Ghurka's rapid descent in 1889 to Slig bar (18 mins from summit after 37 mins up.) I went tumbling and sliding down scree reaching the road in 20 mins from the top. but then still had the hotel. | Chris Pearson | 20/07/1986 |
