First of five. Onto Scaur hillAndrew Simmons17/02/2024
Parked at entrance to Tilhill Forest, room for 2 cars. Went up behind Scaur Hill, shapely little thing with evidence there are normally cattle, but none today. Then took the forest track toward Wether Hill and ascended easily from the 2nd fence. These are old fences and not all that obvious, Easy exit from the forest, Both good viewpoints.hils22/01/2024
From Parking at 093571 at track end. Over The Inneans, Dumglow, Georgeton Hills and Park Hill. On compass Bearing over featureless ground in thick mist and drizzle to Outh Hill. Bearing N then W to forest edge and up NW break, skirting fallen trees to NE. Detour SW up Peat Hill, back on break, cross small stream and on to track. N then SW on track to old wall and deciduous woodland. Up W edge of woodland and great route to Wether Hill. Passable but not fab route E to stay on N side of woodland, over St Margarets Craig and down to boundary. Up Scaur Hill from N, easy, and back to track. Took NE break to wall and up Hardiston Hill. Reasonable walking. Descended NE break to field corner. Awkward fence to climb, then diagonally across 2 fields to yellow road at near Georgeton Burn. Diagonally up next field to break at 068974 to avoid felling. Up track to and core path E to start point. Soaking day 17km 500m 4.5hrs. No views, but happy.Lynnebe25/10/2023

Forest Road up to what looks like kilns. Left. Follow until fence at track side (deciduous trees). Go a few yards further to the next fence, which is easier and drier to go up. Where there's a corner you can exit the forest easily and you are just below the summit. If you choose to go up the other fence, or go right at the corner, follow the fence/wall up to the exit at the gate, turn left to the summit. Either way gets you there hassle free. Excellent viewpoint.Belfarm 25/10/2020
Up the Tilhill road from the A823. Along the North side of the wood, the county boundary, wet underfoot, then steeply up to top, avoiding any trees.NormanW21/10/2020

From Scaur along forest road by bike. This is a very easy hill, parked by a fence and ride, From the ride it is a short non struggle walk out to a grassy hillside, strangely dead (drought damage?) Hare and kestrel at the top. Returns to Kelty by Cleish and Blairadam Forest which was muddy as usual.fasgadh07/07/2020

Round of Wether, Scaur, Outh, Park and Georgeton Hills from parking at track entrance at 053955. NB Forestry work in progress. Walked up branch track to small quarry, then up through trees and out again onto open moor and further W to pleasant airy summit.Thearlaichdubh27/10/2019
From Outh Bridge to Outh Hill (easy), then the quagmire started. Easiest route is to 057956 and use the firebreak that goes NW (not the one going north - it's hard work). Up Scaur Hill (avoiding gorse) from decidious trees, descend to track. Follow track to 045955 for path alongside fence through trees and out to open hill for summit of Wether Hill. My actual route was a bit more convoluted and at times waders/snorkel would have been helpful! Don't try to reach Scaur Hill via firebreak from 059960 either.Fife Walking11/10/2019

A Boxing Day circuit of the Cleish Hills from Outh Bridge in snow and sunshine. Even so, I plunged through the snow into the marshy depths by the forestry often enough to demonstrate that Scaur Hill and Wether Hill are really better kept for a separate short walk. Outh Hill (having walked North up the A823 and crossed the fence where wire gives way to planks by a stream) - Park Hill - Georgeton Hills - a hugely enjoyable ascent and descent of Dumglow by its snowy prow - the Slough of Des[pond to Scaur Hill - forest tracks and a clever path through the trees to the tussocky summit of Wether Hill - back by the forest track and A823.Nick Down126/12/2017
parked at bend in road at track entrance, along track then up through trees where there is a wall and fence.robertphillips12/03/2017

Parked in the bend in the road. Then through the forest on a track until a fence is reached south-east of the top. Follow the fence line to the open ground. Long wet grass to summit.Play2End22/08/2015
Parked on verge by gate on main road to south. Good tracks to below ridge, followed fence and wall up W edge of deciduous trees, then up through conifers to the ridge. Looked like several had been very recently pruned. Fine view in all directions. Onwards to Scaur Hill along ridge.Minto21/02/2015
Easy track from Scaur Hill to east, good firebreak alongside fence (not wall) opens the door to the open grassy summit, extensive views.alda15/02/2015
