Very windy day unsuitable for higher hills! From road end at Glenearn (parking alongside wall/barn) up steep grass track to Glenearn Hill (both summits). Then over to West Dron Hill via Pitkeathly Hill (tried to go round the hill but gorse made this difficult so retreated up to the summit of Pitkeathly and stayed up high). Firebreak up to West Dron Hill. Down the other side on grass path through fire break. Found cup marked stone marked on map then up to Dron Hill before heading back down the Wallace Road and road walk back to Glenearn.Fife Walking07/04/2024
Parked 136157, space for 3 cars, walked S then SW on good track to 132148. Through gate then direct to summit of Dron Hill on animal tracks through 2 further gates. Descent W to lochan and Wallace Road on quad bike track. Down to Wood Burn then left track and up forest edge to gate at 120147. Grassy break, lovely, almost to summit. Some gorse to negotiate on final section but an obvious path. Clear summit, good views. Descent on faint path & quad track NE to meet track end. Track completely clear of gorse now. Don't drop down to fence, gain track a bit higher. Small detour to cup marked stone. Track to W Dron & quiet road to parking. 7km 300m climbLynnebe14/10/2023

2nd hill of 7 for the day after Cloven Craig's then onto Glenearn Hill. The Fife Flyer10/04/2021
Parked on roadside before West Dron House and walked down past modernised cottages to Wallace Road. Followed this up past hairpin bend and at gated fork took rright hand track up through trees. When trees widened out to a wide break crossing the track branched off left and followed the break then a grassy path to the summit. On to Glenearn HillJubilado16/07/2020
From Glenearn Hill, easy at first but needed to squeeze through some gorse to get to the Pitkeathly Loch dam. The orienteering map was a great help with this one. From the dam a short descent beside the burn gave access to an easy ride which climbed past a ruined caravan to the whin infested summit dome. Easy enough to find a way up though. Several candidates, would be better without the cairn. Heavy shower, but still good views from the pines.fasgadh15/03/2020

From West Dron. the grassy track runs out in a mess of gorse, which has to be skirted round to gain the firebreak heading for the topColin Crawford21/12/2017
After Cloven Craigs. Firebreak from corner of wood at 120148 leads directly to summit without any problems. Then on to Glenearn Hill.NormanW28/11/2017
Erected a small cairn on one of the many possible high points that is not gorse. Bring a stone up with you, there are not many around.summitter24/09/2017
P Glenearn. Up track to both N and S tops of GH. Down to SE and across dam. Roughly N to meet Firebreak heading SE. Onto summit of WDH. Down onto track which at the start is completely overgrown with gorse but persevere. Down to West Dron then back along the road to car. Beautiful weather.chrisbien25/03/2017
From Glenearn Hill, across dam of Pitkeathly Loch. Through trees round first hill to clearing at col. Then up through more trees to open summit. Descent N on open ground, then Wyllie Burn, rough pasture and disused quarry back to the road.Minto02/01/2017
Quite a slog from the last TUMP. Wild country this one. A hard descent NW to Glenearn.Play2End23/06/2016
Wind farm track from Cloven Craigs to corner of trees near ruin at Mundie, then NE along edge of trees and up through good firebreaks to summit, all easy going with GPS and Explorer map.alda12/01/2016

Parked at Glenearn, beside barn and wheelie bins. Round of Castle Law Fort, Culteuchar, Glenearn, Pitkeathly and West Dron Hills, returning via E and N of Glenearn Hill. A lot of gorse to avoid on Pitkeathly Hill but easy ascent along forest rides from NO 112150.TRG318blank
