Logged Descriptions  (logged by 30 users)ByDate of Ascent
From the Ledyatt Loch CP. A gate besides the cattle grid gives access to a field, enabling the skirting of Ledyatt Wood. A gate/broken fence E of Balshando Hill then provides a reasonable walk through Naiad Wood to the summit. I then went S and over a fence into a field, exiting again NE of Blacklaw Hill West Top. Bit of a heather bash to the summit ridge, where a vehicle track goes to the summit and then pretty much all the way to Blacklaw Hill proper. From the trig I went N down to a gorse-lined burn, but easy to jump across where there are gaps in the gorse. Kept to the edge of the field until reaching a pylon line. This has created a ride in Ledyatt Wood along which a footpath leads all the way to the wood's west side and then can be skirted all the way around back to the car.summitter19/12/2023
With Blacklaw Hill from Piper Damhillsman26/11/2023
From fab parking at Piperdam Loch, along good path N side then signposted route up Blacklaw Hill and Trig. ATV tracks to BH W Top. More good track curling N, NW, S to gate and path through forest to track to minor road. Up Ballo Hill from mast track opp Thrawparts. Short grass W down to wooden fence at hole in wall. Easy to cross under bw. Grass and track SW to South Ballo. NW down to visible wall gap to cross stream to forest track. Anticlockwise loop, all pathed to Northballo Hill. Retraced steps then zigzag down to Lairds Loch. At W end of loch carry on N ish over low fence and up soon obvious track near edge of wood. Cross easy fence to summit Hill of Dores. Retrace return to Loch lovely lunch spot. Out to Tullybaccart CP then S down road to Littleton. Good track E to Redmyre. Here we crossed 2 fences but if we had stayed N of fence maybe better. Past Redmyre Cott and easy gates to Dron Hill. Rtn N of Dron , Balruddery to Piperdam. Superb 22km, 500m ascent.Lynnebe22/11/2023

From parking at forest entry to West. Up steeply through heather to summit. Then found an ATV track which led all the way to the main summit, Blacklaw Hill.NormanW25/08/2017
As chrisbein. Forest rd then path to ditch & bridge. Round to W of hill on path by fence. Up through heather. High point doesn't appear to match 1:25K spot height. Loads of quad bike tracks over to Blacklaw Hill. Met 3 bikes, several times, leader very friendly.Minto16/07/2017
