Parked at cp on 809/834 corner. Along farm track and then up to trig point, then on to high point in woods. | colazione | 06/03/2023 |
At the time of visiting the road to Croftamie remains closed, but you can drive down (W) - park in the second layby, with the gate at the W end, go through this and up 2 field edges with one fence crossing. At a clear corner, bend in the fence you've been paralleling you'll see the earthwork, at that point hop this fence and go to the summit.Return the same way unless trig bagging. Easy. | Belfarm | 01/06/2022 |
After bagging Aucheneck trig point | fergie | 25/11/2021 |
Parked at the side of Stockiemuir in a layby then headed through the woods and over some moorland to the trig point, Followed the road back to my car. | JAdair97 | 07/08/2021 |
Left car at parking area just within Jonglew's open field area. Visited trig earlier during pandemic but unaware then that it's not the summit. Sorted now. | lordtonult | 05/04/2021 |
Visited both areas in the woods. | robertphillips | 25/12/2020 |
From layby S of National Park sign. Summit is near mossy stump in open woodland 200 yards NE of gorse clump, beyond two large uprooted trees. | Nick Down1 | 11/04/2020 |
Up from layby at National Park sign. Layby slightly further S would have been better. I reckon high point is in the woods, not at the Trig. | sclater | 20/02/2020 |
Agree that high point is in large gorse bush next to trig or in wood. | russell61 | 27/01/2019 |
After Meikle Caldon. Park road end on A809. Summit dead flat and may be in the middle of the gorse bush but not by 50cm. Mist and drizzle. | Thearlaichdubh | 15/07/2017 |
With Ben. Not possible to identify the actual highest point | hillsman | 05/07/2017 |
Parked at the A81/B834 junction. Initially on farm track then through field to explore both quoted summits near mast. | NormanW | 26/06/2017 |
Drove up the open farm track from NS 4914 8517 to the gated track comms mast service track. Walked from there. Tricky to spot a definitve top: trig pillar, gorsey ground to NE? | jonglew | 02/06/2017 |
Up through woods from lay-by on A809 to moorland grazing and trig point area. Highest ground seemed to be at dense gorse thicket just to east of TP | neimcv | 08/04/2017 |
P at end of B834. Track to trig then into wood where the highest point appears to be at the N end of the earthwork. | chrisbien | 03/12/2016 |
