Parked at quarry and decided to go up edge of it but not a good idea. Far better to go along road towards Pepperknowes to an open gate and up field to very good upper track. This avoids dealing with barbed wire. | Crumblie2 | 11/03/2024 |
On my way home from more Eastern Sidlaws, I had every intention of nipping up from the quarry as others, however a tree down across the road scuppered this. So I started just E of the woodland E of Goukton. 1 bw fence to climb then lovely walk across fields to tracks above quarry and these all the way to the masts. Hop over fence to summit and return the same way. Thought the chainsaws were out already but it was dad and youngster on teeny motorbike making the most of a closed road. | Lynnebe | 03/01/2024 |
ran back to car from west hill, then drove round to Glen Carse, parked up to do a shortened Glencarse Hill and Pans Hill | Shutterlag | 18/09/2023 |

from the north, parked on verge at old quarry, up LHS to gate, grass track to masts, gap in the wall to woodland. | robertphillips | 30/01/2019 |
Steady climb from Glen Carse road, where there is a small spot to park cars and dump your Christmas litter. | summitter | 12/01/2018 |
Up alongside quarry then track to top, mound in wood above masts | Colin Crawford | 25/10/2017 |
As Viewfinder, but no ponies on this occasion. | NormanW | 06/08/2017 |
From N, as Richtea and Viewfinder. Farmer out in pickup rounding up sheep in fields above quarry, and another spraying potatoes growing in fields to the west. | Minto | 08/07/2017 |
As alda plus only fragments of fence between field and wood. | chrisbien | 12/02/2017 |
From north, parked easily in old quarry, through a gate and up onto the plateau. Followed a track through a field of inquisitive long haired ponies to two masts. Summit wood is defended by a high wall but there is a break a short distance east of the masts, where I mounted a large boulder to step over the barbed wire. | Topographer57 | 10/02/2015 |
From south, driveway to Inchyra House, parking on road, gate into field, pleasant easy ascent, saw no-one. | alda | 30/01/2015 |
From North, near old quarry. Summit just in wood behind mobile mast. | richtea5040 | 04/01/2015 |
