Weather fair. | MountainMac | 14/10/2023 |
Parked up by houses, walked round the perimeter, got through fence, bagged Trig | redvark | 28/03/2023 |
On Pilgrim Way from south. Very muddy field of turnips. | Crumblie2 | 19/11/2022 |
Walked the Pilgram`s Way from the south of the hill. Found a way into the compound, fence in poor state of repair. | Andrew Simmons | 15/10/2022 |
From Rosyth on Pilgrims way path. Got as near as was safe and legal. | Hirta | 12/09/2022 |
Parked in the road leading to the masts and bagged the tump. Also climbed the gate into the compound and bagged the trig. | NormanW | 20/12/2021 |
Did it again while walking FPW from Dunfermline to N Queensferry. Didn't visit trig. | Thearlaichdubh | 25/04/2021 |
After Rosyth FBM, following Pilgrim Way. As the fence has now been repaired, the route to the trig is by climbing the 2m high rickety rusty metal gate in the SE corner. There is a toe hold half way up. People in neighbouring houses have a good view of you. On to Hillfield. | Thearlaichdubh | 18/04/2021 |
Parked on verge, stunning views | Nicky C | 07/03/2021 |
Walked fron hillfield over the motorway bridge up past the houses on the hill. Lovely views from the bridges to the south to Dunfermline in the North. | doigi | 29/12/2020 |
Fence all repaired. Didn't fancy trying to climb it. No luck with access. Whole of the area inside fence looks like unnatural add on to the height, satisfied I achieved the natural height of the hill. Not bothered by lack of trig! | Belfarm | 03/11/2020 |
Did the highest outside-fence top then tried to find a way to the trig. Rather than barrel-roll the sagging fence sections I located a gap between fence and ground about a third of the way along the SW fence line. A thin person can crawl through, which I did, getting back on my find to bag the trig and other high bits along the tank roof. I have left a police traffic cone at the gap if anyone else fancies giving it a go. | summitter | 19/06/2020 |
As per vegibagger | curlebd | 08/03/2020 |
Hole in fence patched. Bagging the trig. | BigJ | 02/07/2019 |
Pleased to say that the hole in the fence near the NW corner is still there for access to the trig. There is road access from the east up to the houses in the hill top | vegibagger | 11/12/2018 |
Detoured up whilst exploring round the bridges | quadbarrel | 04/11/2018 |
Up to Castlandhill then clockwise around fence to NW corner, thanks to others for locating the fence break. Two reservoir roofs, nice view of the Forth bridges from the south roof. No idea which roof encloses the HP. | Topographer57 | 01/09/2018 |
After Letham Hill. Cheated a bit and caught the Dunfermline bus which gets within 800m of the summit if you know where to get off. I got off 2 stops too early. Pleasant enough walk and the hole in the fence in NW corner is still there and just big enough for me to fit through. Good views over Forth, Rosyth etc. On to Ferry Hills. | Thearlaichdubh | 19/11/2017 |
Took some photos of the new bridge then bagged the high ground and then up to the trig through the enlarged hole after Chris The Bear's visit. | Dugswell2 | 06/05/2017 |
Having been round the enclosure twice before I was intrigued by Robert's comment - through the fence - and sure enough there is now a hole at the NW corner. Trig and hill bagged. | chrisbien | 01/04/2017 |
parked at end of houses then through fence. | robertphillips | 24/02/2017 |
Circumnavigation of compound. Any ground within looks only a little higher, if at all | Colin Crawford | 29/01/2017 |
Here for the trigpoint and having spent a long time studying the area and perimeter pretty sure I would have walked over the high point.

TP:UK log:

Having read previous logs and after a walk around the perimeter in the very muddy field I went for it and managed to hug the trig, felt very pleased with myself until later that evening on my gin cruise wearing top to toe mud all down the back of my trousers as I was too late to change due to trig bagging activities and traffic on the bridge! | thejackrustles | 21/11/2015 |
Thought I'd better get this one done before they fix the fence and the hammock manoeuvre gives way to pole vaulting. Watched sunrise from the trig. | Lindsay M | 23/06/2015 |
As Minto. Field edge, hammock fence, blue barrel, steps, trig, stroll around, reverse. | alda | 21/06/2015 |
Walked to the highest non man-made point. Ignored the trig point! | Play2End | 23/03/2015 |
Parked opposite large house on R. Walked to end of cottages, R around the field boundary to NW corner where fence is damaged. (look for blue barrel). Easy to adopt a roll-into-hammock and roll-out again technique to gain access to trig point - which is clearly on artificial reservoir roof. | Minto | 27/12/2014 |
Fence damaged on West side to allow slightly akward entry. | Adrian | 29/11/2014 |
Perimeter fence has been repaired, but accessible over old gate where wall from south meets fence. | agentmancuso | 19/02/2011 |
