Train to Westerton station past the school and into the woods. A walk back to central Glasgow via the canal and Kelvin Walkway.Buck03/04/2023
Really rather nice, though only gaps in the beautiful trees allow views, mostly northwards. Easy access, multiple good paths and a clear summit, among the trees. Nice carvings including deer. Very much enjoyed the brief visit and will be back.Belfarm 21/05/2022

My twentieth visit to this insignificant eminence, my closest Tump to home and part of a regular long walk. Only in lockdown......Colin Crawford15/01/2021
200m detour to summit en route to local stationlordtonult21/10/2020
Parked in Henderland Road. This road seems to specialise in manicured twee gardens, very fitting in the heart of Bearsden Bungalowland. Hill is pleasant mature woodland. Easy access.Campbell Singer08/10/2020
Parked at W entrance at the middle of the woodGordonAdshead16/07/2020
Same as last time street from the west.robertphillips04/07/2020
From road that intersects the N and S parts of the park. Very established and dark piece of broadleaf woodland sandwiched between houses. A small cairn at what felt like the summit.sclater04/07/2020
I was stretching the rules a touch, this Tump being three miles from home along the canal towpath. Sadly this is the most I'll be able to attempt until the crisis is over. Pleasant but distinctly underwhelmingColin Crawford06/04/2020
After visit to Aldi at Knightswood via canal to Westerton station and up on to ridge and nature walk. Summit still well grubbed. Good views of garden fencesThearlaichdubh22/12/2019
From Henderland Road.NormanW09/11/2019
Walked from centre of Glasgow via Kelvin Walkway. Several contenders for high point. Second time - 28/12/18.russell6112/11/2018
3rd tump of 5 today, after Craigend Hill and Douglas Park. From Hillfoot station i took the next train and alighted at Westerton station. Straight up to an access point into the woodland then followed the path near the boundary before venturing into the centre to explore the summit contenders, a large stone, clumps of earth near trees but rhododendrons have been largely cleared in this area. Lots of dry pieces of wood lying about. Re-traced steps back to Westerton station, enjoying the cooler conditions in the woodland, on a scorching day in the Glasgow area.Dazingdale28/05/2018
From Westerton station to Cairnhill Woods - signposted - and laid-out footpaths through woodland.neimcv21/09/2017

Stroll through the woods on a wet afternoon, Summit rhodies now cropped and access easierColin Crawford21/12/2016
Walked from my flat along the Switchback to Canniesburn Rd, then Cairnhill View, Then bear R. Highest point seems to be in the middle of recently grubbed clump of Rhodedendron thicket First attempt to do a Tump for it being a Tump. Pointless as no view.Thearlaichdubh16/07/2016
From Henderland Rd. Easy walk from south, just off path. Got a strange look off a local until he realisde what I was looking for and he then pointed me in direction of HP.PeterD16/07/2016
Parked Henderland Road, lots of accesses. Dry, overcast, windy, no views from wood.iangalbraith30/01/2016
