Starting at Glenwhargen > Whiteside > Shiel hill > Heathery hill > Black rigAndrew Simmons09/11/2023
From SSW, cattle grid, via Whitehill, ATV track then leads to Shiel Hill. Back same way then across road and bridge to Peat Hill.RHW16/10/2023
Parked at the road entrance towards Glenmanna. Walked up the road to Glenwhargen, from where a grass track heads up the glen above Glenwhargen Burn. Up a grassy flank to Whiteside once SE of Glenwhargen Craig, finding an ATV track close to the summit, which thankfully continues over the tussocky ground on to Shiel Hill. Similar ground over to Wether Hill and the aptly named Heathery Hill then E to Jarney Knowes to get onto a turbine road which helps ascend Black Rig. Something of a slog to Dunduff and back before the final summit of Cairnkinna Hill. Back to the car via the grassy slopes above Hallscaur Craig, which seems the easiest terrain when descending into Scaur Glen. 4.5hrs total.summitter04/08/2023
From Glenwhargen: Whiteside -> Welltrees Tappin (for the trig pillar) -> Shiel Hill -> Heathery Hill -> Black Rig -> Cairnkinna Hill -> Dunduff -> Breconside Hill -> Cleuchead Hill -> Merkland Hill. Adrian's car waiting for us at the road by Woodend. Pleasant 19.6k round of 9 tumps.jonglew28/11/2020
shiel hill and whiteside from parking near track entrance to bridge at glenmanna, good track then quad bike tracks to both tops.robertphillips26/07/2019
After Whiteside. Useful vehicle ruts over the summitColin Crawford24/11/2018
P E of Scaur Water bridge. Headed SE above fields to join track up Glenwhargen. To top of track, across Shiel Burn and up to top. As usual found track near to the top which I then followed to the summit of Whiteside.chrisbien04/12/2017
Came from Cairnkinna, back down via Glenwhargen Crag. Too cloudy to see much except directly south.agentmancuso10/03/2012
