Followed D Dave's route. Forest road to a gate where an overgrown track/path climbs between Winter Hill and Low Craignell. From its high point we took deer tracks up to this minor top then along the undulating ridge to Darnaw. After doubling back to Craignell it was a straightforward descent SE from the summit to the forest road. 2.5hrs.summitter27/01/2023
Low Craignell, Darnaw & Craignell . Parked at hairpin bend, SW side of Clatteringshaws Loch. Solo.Dangerous Dave15/01/2023
There is a faint traversing path/line running round from Low Craignell to the col below Darnaw - quite hard to find but good if you do.49pp12/06/2021
From Black Loch forest car park (NX 4992 7300). Fell of Talnotry -> Poultrybuie Hill -> Munwhul first, then dropped down into Glenowrie (NX 5006 7557) and traversd across slope of the hill up to here. On to Craignell -> Brockloch Hill for a 10 mile round across a lot of very bad ground.jonglew05/05/2021
Parked at Hairpin bend near Quarry on lakeside road. Through forest and steeply up SE side of Craignell. Descended over rough ground to Darnaw, down to Forest Road, back to car in 2.5 hrs.jigglybones07/03/2021

7th top of 11 on a 30km route from Auchenleck car park to Murray's Monument car park, climbing Bennan Hill, Gairy of Pulnee, Millfore Sw top, Millfore, Munwhul and Cairngarroch, visiting the Rocking stone then steep descent to Bell Knowe and briefly on cycle track, veering off on ride heading SE near wall but encountered windthrow necessitating detour then curving round to head Sse to climb direct over the remnants of the felled forest. I recorded 475m @ NX 51308 76355. Very wet day today! Continuing South past Lochans to Craignell...Dazingdale26/08/2018

After Craignell, back down to track at NX 52038 75109. Couldn't see the memorial, but then I could hardly see my boots for mist.agentmancuso23/09/2017

Parked at bend near lane-end at NX 50463 77400. Thrashed up forest firebreak to reach a wide track not marked on the map. Then followed wall up south-east on a bit of a path to its highest point, then up the rough ridge to the cairned summit. Walk continued to Craignell. With JdF and CE.Man of Kernow104/06/2016
From North. Single track road to x roads, then forestry road to left, then right and up to high point. Easier terrain. Dry, partly sunny, warm, calm and good views.iangalbraith15/05/2016
From Craignell in strong wind. Missed memorial, not seen from summit cairn.neimcv12/05/2015
Climbed from forest road at 503774. Followed wall up through felled forest to col and then via monument. NB Use logging road to access beginning of wall. I tried to get through the narrow band of remaining forest and was thwarted by windfall.chriswatson27/04/2015
After Craignell followed top line to cairn on Darnaw. Great views. After went back to collect Munwhul.nordicstar24/08/2013
