| Parked to SW at end of public road (NS 6667 1540). Bike to ~250m E of Clocklowie (ruins), walked from there on good forest roads and rough, wet breaks to Earl and Auchtitench Hills, then out of the forest and across open ground to Auchtitench Hill. From there re-entered forest at NS 6973 1778, to take more rough, wet breaks to here. Returned via more breaks to the bike. | 6th and final tump of a 15.4km round from Craigshiel, climbing Niviston, Halfmerk, Earl Hill, Auchitench and West Foredibban Hill then directly South to cross Back Lane then following the Foredib Syke Ese before heading South SE on broad forest ride before entering one of the firebreaks to head direct for the top, recording 442m @ NS 70004 17254. Followed ride out West then Ssw then a meandering route Sw through the trees to reach the forest track, following it past Clocklowie and Lethans back to the car. | Round of Niviston, Halfmerk, Earl Hill, Auchintench, West Foredibban, and Clocklowie from parking at end of public road near Craigshiel. You can pinpoint the rides from Foredibban, then trigonometry to work out how to get to the HP, confirmed by GPS.
