From Buchan Hill. There's a track along the ridge at least. Descended back to Loch Valley and spent a chilly night in the tent.sclater19/03/2022
From Merrick, a tough detour from the main ridge path to Buchan Hill, our next destination. With Adrian.alwaysinshorts03/09/2021
After Buchan Hill across some difficult terrain. Flat summit area but high point seemed obvious enough. Down to Loch Neldricken and on to CraignawColin Crawford30/07/2021
From Glen Trool car park. Up and over Black Gairy to Buchan Hill first, then on to here. Rough pathless ground all the way. On to Craig Neldricken, and picked up Bennan on the return.jonglew25/06/2021
Some outstanding weather for this route around some fine Galloway Hills from car park for Bruce's stone. Benyellary, the Merrick, then descent of E ridge and on to Craig Neldricken (visited the 3 tops with 550m contours). Continued to climb Craignairny, and then Dungeon Hill, camping a short distance from the summit. Traversed to climb Meaul and on to Buchan Hill and descent SW to join track and short distance to start point.RobertP02/10/2020
Meaul and buchan hill from the glen trool cp, followed path to near loch valley and up to meaul, back over all buchan tops and down to south of buchan burn.robertphillips08/03/2020
8th hill of 11 on an epic traverse from the Forest drive near Loch Riecawr to the Minor lane leading from Caldons to Glen Trool, climbing Macaterick, Hoodens Hill, Mullwharcher, Dungeon Hill, Craignairny, Craig Neldricken and Craignaw followed by the gradual descent Sw to cross over the Mid Burn in full spate then up to the designated summit. I also climbed a huge boulder to check if it wasnt in contention but appears 1m lower. Re-crossed the Mid-Burn and headed for Craiglee North top but starting to tire....Dazingdale11/10/2018
Approximate date of first ascent. Round from Loch Trool of Buchan Hill, Meaul, Rig Of Loch Enoch, sometimes Craig Neldricken and/or Mullwharchar, up E flank of Merrick & back to Loch Trool via Benyellary and sometimes Bennan and the wonderful viewpoint of Fell Of Eschoncan. One of my favourite rounds anywhere.NotReallyABagger01/06/1990
