Followed forest track to NE of summit, through clouds of annoying flies, then short rough patch to FB at NX 41397 99372 which takes you almost the whole way, easier than expected. Back out same way & on to South Top. | agentmancuso | 07/07/2020 |
Parked at Quarry to East. Up R.H.S. of Quarry over open ground, then into trees. Used fire breaks to reach Top. With the F.C. | The Captain | 02/07/2019 |
tairlaw hill south top and tairlaw hill from tracks near loch bradan. | robertphillips | 07/03/2018 |
Last hill of 11 today, this being the last of a 5 hill loop from Loch Bradan car park, previously i did a 5 hill loop from Straiton then an out and back to Genoch Inner hill. I climbed Tairlaw South top, Craig Dhu, Doon of Waterhead and Fence of Knockdon, descending down an attractive ride to ford the Water of Girvan, then climbing up beside felled forest. I used the forest track to get near but some forest bashing necessary to access sunmit. A Curious summit, nicer than expected. Descent down through pylons pushed through trees to find ride that i followed to road and then back to the car. The hills are not particularly tough but linking them up is especially when the forest rides dont match those on the Os maps. | Dazingdale | 09/05/2017 |
P start of track from W. Track NE of top. Across rubbish to trees and 30m in the start of a winding clear area which takes you to within about 10m of top. | chrisbien | 16/01/2017 |
Pretty horrid. A track gets you to the mast and trig, then you have to cross new plantings to reach mature trees on the summit. There is a firebreak going over the top, but it's hidden and partly blocked from the west. Expect a thrash | Colin Crawford | 02/06/2016 |
