Across heather and through newly planted woodland from the Loch Doon cafe to Shear Hill and Carwaur. Then over similar terrain to Wee Hill of Glenmount. An increasing number of baby-heads to negotiate as I traipsed further south to take in Fence of Knockdon and the more interesting Doon of Waterhead, making use of ATV tracks and deer/sheep trods where these were available. NE to Big Hill of Glenmount before E to the Loch Doon road and a well earned butty and cuppa. | summitter | 07/06/2023 |
P Dalcairnie Bridge, track most of the way to Knockdon Craig then back to examen the various options here. Agree that the top is featureless grass, not either of the rockier bumps. | agentmancuso | 09/11/2019 |
10th top of 12 today and 9th top of a 11 hill S loop from Eriff to Dalmellington climbing Benbrack, Campbell's Hills, Windy Standard, Glenmuck Craig, Bryan's Heights, Muckle Eriff hill, Big Hill of Glenmount and over to Knockdon Craig then NE to this top spending extra time to visit all the knolls. I recorded the more attractive rocky green top as 1m lower than the more mundane but higher grassy top. Continuing to Carwaur with its nasty deep channel and tussocks...This top completed my Girvan catchment! | Dazingdale | 10/10/2018 |
Dalmellington to Bellsbank via Turgeny, Auldcraigloch, Wee hill of Glenmount plus twin, Big hill of Craigmount, Carwaur, Shear Hill. OOut of forest into even more plantations. OK once on ridge. Also visited twin. | Thearlaichdubh | 20/06/2018 |
parked on verge near waterhead, atv track over knockdon craig onto wee hill, visited all high points, and back over fence of knockdon. | robertphillips | 09/03/2018 |
From Knockdon, over twin top. Eastern summit quite confusing with several candidates. Best knoll was a green and rocky one but probably not the high point | Colin Crawford | 01/12/2016 |
