Last hill of 11 today on an elongated loop from Girvan climbing Shalloch, Byne, Mains, Grey Hill, Knockdaw, Craig, Breaker, Bargain, Fell Hill and Knockrocher Knowe, a fiddly traverse of a forest section onto A road then veering off to skirt reservoir between Pinmacher & Pinminnoch then up to explore the summit knolls. Fortunately a cattle-free ascent. Fantastic views of Ailsa Craig and the Byne hill ridge looking like a sleeping dragon. Dropped down Nw past cows onto the track but instead of repeating my route from yesterday i took a covert route through the Glendoune estate (beautiful woodland garden then past the Knoll onto Northfield avenue then a fp over the Doune Burn to finish at the Southfield hotel.Dazingdale16/05/2017
From Girvan/Barr hill path, excessively muddy (plus additions...) due to cattle feeders across the path. Then a grassy stroll to the topColin Crawford28/12/2016
P at cemetery. Track to 240m then a wander in the mist till I sorted myself out. 2 gates to top. Top as per Minto.chrisbien06/12/2016
Shalloch, Dow, Laggan from cemetery. South knoll just higher I believeRHW05/06/2016
Continuation of walk from Dow Hill. Dropped down its south-east ridge to track again, then uphill to track's highest point. Then diverted south over a minor top through cow pasture (lots of cattle with calves) to summit - one barbed wire fence to climb, others can be avoided by gaps in fence. Highest point could be one of three knolls within 10m-20m of each other.Man of Kernow130/05/2014
Parked by Glendoune road. Up road then track to pick Dow Hill, then circuit of Laggan Hill, Troweir Hill and Saugh Hill, plus trig. exceptionally clear and sunny weather.nordicstar25/08/2013
