With John from parking area west of track off minor road to Polloch. Followed track to it's highest point in the forest where a cairn marked the start of a path up through the forest and then all the way along the undulating ridge to the summit (the path disappeared in a few places). 40mph gusts at summit so didn't stay long, returned same way. Great views all around, and some ground frost kept some of the wetter lower parts of the ridge a bit less soggy. Total time 5h 20min.mproudfoot09/03/2024
With Pauli & Nieves by standard out-and-back route from Loch Doilet. Beautiful day: sunny, cold, stiff breeze on ridge. Air very clear - long views. Sunlight a bit weaker on descent. Rounsfell23/10/2023
Drove in from Kinlochan (NM 8185 6228) to good parking area at NM 8435 6853. Start of excellent path marked by cairn at NM 84356831. Indistinct over boggy parts (and some pruning would be helpful in lower reaches). There is a rocky buff on the nose of Beinn Mheadhoin but a good deer trod bypasses this at NM 87262 69594, a grassy rake regains ridge at cairn (NM 8749 6961). Lovely walk - very easy on feetcarole engel15/08/2023
Parked at the the bend at 843687. A path 200 yrd to the south leads steeply onto open ground. Long ridge walk with showers, wind etc. With Jill Robertson, Alan Rowan, Dangerous Dave, Oliver Bartrum, Anne Butler and Andy Ravenhill.bolton29/07/2023
First walk on Munro Society weekend at Ariundle Bunkhouse. Guidebooks make the walk too long; drove past Glenhurich and parked at the large space on the hairpin bend before the ridge. Path through trees is marked by two small cairns. A long but interesting ridge. With Jill Robertson, Phil Massey, Andy Ravenhill, Alan Rowan & Oliver Bartrum. Anne & Ralph came with us for a short walk and turned back after bagging Beinn Mheadhoin (517m). Back same way. Cold, windy & wet but good fun!Dangerous Dave29/07/2023
Not a route to do if, like me, you don't like hacking through trees. Seems to be no restrictions on cars driving up the forestry road so i continued to just past bridge where my ascent and decent routes parted company. It is possible to continue by car much further up either branch, the wester line up the valley would make for a very easy and short ascent and it is easier to locate break in tress from below. But I continued on foot to cairn mentioned by others, line soon deteriorated in trees and it became hard work. Once on ridge much more pleasant and good going to top. On descent I took the option of dropping down steeply NW from just before the 601m top to avoid the trees on the ascent route, but encountered them on this line also I was drawn by the fence line which I could see took me to a stile which I wrongly assumed would give me the best line through the trees. In fact you need to be about 0.5km further SW. Not a bad day despite the trees.dickscroop01/08/2021
Solo fr Aryhoulan, solid hazy sunshine, long long run up Glen Scaddle and half-run up rough E ridge of this hill. d car 7.55am, back 1:30pm with last few km having been very hot in relentless sun on level LRT, dashing from spot of shade to spot of shade and lathering on the suncream! Met an adder at Tighnacomaire.NorfolkPT2102/06/2021
From Sgurr Dhomhnuill. Hard work. Very steep descent north, slow going, then grassier and less steep lower down. Kept to the right of outcrops down to 400m, bottomed out about 320m, found a steep grassy gully to the summit area. Descended initially west, then steep grassy slopes SW to west of the col (point 404). Contoured the south side of the glen at about 420m (hard work, often bouldery, many minor streams to cross), then a bouldery ascent to Druim Garbh. Pleasant but very slow walk back to parking at point 343 by the mast in the late afternoon sunshine through the crazy jumble of lochans, boggy streams, outcrops, boulders etc. Many navigation checks.Owen B25/05/2021
During a solo week in Ardgour & Sunart on clear, sunny day. There is room for a couple of cars at the forest entrance at Kinlochan. Followed the track past Glenhurich Cottage, crossing bridge just after, then immediately L & then R at next fork. A cairn at the high point of this track marks the start of a boggy path up through the trees, climbing steeply at first. It gets drier but less distinct higher up the ridge. Summit is a fine viewpoint. Heard & then saw a huge skein of geese flying over the neighbouring ridge to N before circling hill & heading towards Mull. Back by the same route.NotReallyABagger30/09/2019

At top at 4 getting dark and went dark with 2h30 back to Ariundle resulting in an extra 300m climb mostly up a vegetated cliff - tiresome! Glad to have a reliable lamp...davechaffey29/11/2018

57th – Solo. Day 2 of overnight expedition. Originally intended as a multi-day trip, but given deterioration in weather and route that would have given a tricky wet descent between the two Corbetts, walked out after first Corbett. From Lochan out and back along East ridge of Carn na Nathrach. Walked out East along river through Glen Scaddle to A861. Abrupt change in weather, cloud down to 600m and rain getting progressively heavier from mid-morning til late afternoon.RGibbs01/06/2017
Standard route from W (Kinlochan). Excellent (long) ridge and views of surrounding hills, light snow at top.RobertP04/11/2016
Parked on bend at 843683 (10:15) & took path from cairn steeply through wood to W ridge. Path continued all the way to the summit (12:35). Pleasant long ridge with good views. No rain. Finished 14:35dbb24/07/2016
Left car at corner at 843683 where a cairn marks the start of a steep path through the forest up onto the long west ridge. An annoying new deer fence obstructs the 602m col. Beyond this col the ridge becomes more rocky with many local tops not shown on maps.Topographer5718/06/2016

Start: Ariundle nature reserve. Notes: ascended mine track and continued along Druim Garbh to pt 803. Crossed the head of Gleann na Cloich Sgoilte & Gleann an Dubh Choirein and ascended Carn na Nathrach directly before returning in a similar fashion to ascend Sgurr Dhomhnuill - brutal. Returned to start point via Druim Leac a Sgiathain and mine track. Advise starting from Kinlochan to create a horseshoe of Gleann an Dubh Choirein to reduce ascent.raffemeister11/07/2013
