Whole summit area felled. From N, parked on SE verge opposite Buittle Mains, 0.4km along road (not too busy, decent verge) then mapped path and tracks, new unmapped track up to N ridge then extraction route from NX 81490 60040 continues as faint trail to N summit, wooden hut. This could be the HP but middle summit (outcrop, pile of stones nearby) could have the edge. S summit lower. | RHW | 17/10/2023 |
Verge parking opposite the footpath then path and track to below the top. Tolerable trees gave access to the various high point contenders | Colin Crawford | 15/02/2022 |
Track from the north then up through the trees, visited all areas. | robertphillips | 23/01/2022 |
Roadside verge parking (NX 8156 6079), easier if approaching from the N. Quite a lot of gorse to weave btween until the forest. Good forest road to NX 8133 5984 whence headed up through the trees. Highest point of 3 potential rocky knolls seemed to be NX 81470 59823. | jonglew | 24/01/2021 |
Same route as Chrisbien. Agree top may be the most northerly but no clear line of sight due to dense tree cover | cjo | 05/08/2017 |
Track from N then the East branch going into the forest at the highest point of track. 3 candidates for the top but I think the steep sided bump (most northerly) was the highest. It was downhill after that before two distinct rises. | chrisbien | 03/06/2017 |
