Up Foss Mine track almost to the top of Meall Tairneachan, steeply down eastwards to rejoin track, through the now disused mine area and on almost to the end of the track. Faint and intermittent path to Farragon Hill then straight back via the track to the start. All quite straightforward.TRG31808/11/2023
From Loch Tummel via track from Netherton and Beinn Eagagach. Short snow flurry but clear day with cold wind.N.Morters14/10/2023
1 of 6: From Netherton. There is a small- 2 car- designated parking bay by the lochside. Cloud drifting on and off at the top: mainly on. With Karen.ChrisR30/09/2023
From Meall Tairneachan dropped down to pick up the mine track.Fellhugger11/09/2023
From the west using the mine road/track then intermittent trodden paths to the summit. Final bit up to the summit was hard work! Returned by the same route. Didn't include Meall Tairneachan this time as have already done it twice before.Fife Walking18/09/2022
Solo Meall Tairneachan & Farragon Hill from the B846. Took the track to the mine (via the Meall Tairneachan summit), and then the faint track and path up Farragon Hill, then back the same way. The mine was quiet (Sunday) so was able to walk through the middle of it with no issues. Cloudy with sunny spells, and fairly gusty on Farragon Hill. Total time 4h 22min.mproudfoot07/08/2022
Meall Tarneachan and Farragon Hill from the layby opposite the entrance to the Foss mine. Followed the track from Foss mine then bashed my way through the heather to the summitGary Heath31/05/2022

With Meall Tairneachan from Tummel. Cycled from Pitlochry to Netherton, used tracks for both hills, cut down over Doire Leathan to track through forestry to Frenich. Shower in morning at Perth station, but dry while I was out and sunny too. Below zero above 600m and a scattering of snow. Met one couple at summit of Farragon. Rounsfell03/01/2022
From Edradynate (parked on wide verge above hydro turbine house at NN884519) via Brae of Cluny and estate track to ridge. Then off-piste to summit. Popped up to Beinn Eagagach and had a look at the old barytes mine pits.vuirich16/08/2021
Solo MTB from Netherton on S shore of Loch Tummel. Good track to Lochan a' Chait. Walk to summit over trackless ground.John Lee14/07/2021
With Meall Tairneachan from Aberfeldy. Usual route via baryte mine from Meall Tairneachan. Descended NE past Lochan a' Chait to 4x4 track, then past Loch Glassie back to Aberfeldy.quadbarrel24/04/2021
Stunning snowy walk from quarry entry along the mine road Meall Tairneachan and Farragon, down to track and onto mine road and on to strathtay. (seemed a better option when looking at out and back). Really nice walk in fantastic views to schehallion and Ben Lawers to the south and Beinn a'Ghlo to the north. 15 miles in 6hrs 10 with deep snow at timesNicky C30/12/2020
Standard out and back of the two Corbetts. 111th Corbett, half way there.Owen B27/09/2020
Climbed with Heinke (DMC) - started off terrible weather but by the time we reached Farragon hill completely clear and sunnyamcculloch25/07/2020
With David Alexander and Dave Roberts. From bottom of mine track on B846 (10:20) walked to highest point and followed small path to summit (11:35). Back to track and followed it downhill past the Baryte workings to its end. Climbed up to Farragon Hill SW ridge and thence to summit (2:10); steep at end. Descended same route initially then E to track and down past Lurgan and Milton of Cluny to car parked at 884518 just N of end of estate road (17:00). Mainly high cloud with good views.dbb14/07/2020

Start from a parking area off the road Grid 869595 Netherton, take the main track all the way then over rough ground to the top return the same way.smocks and denims25/10/2019
Up the 4WD track from Netherton, crossing a being-built road going E-W across the range (I know that these mountain tracks are handy for us baggers, but surely enough now!). Eventually the track took me to just below Beinn Eagagach, after which I went cross country to Meall an Fhearna, Beinn Eagagach West Top, then Farragon Hill. Returned to Netherton via the North Top, Creag an Lochain and its North Top, Soon Mhor, then a track to the east of the burn east of this final hill, which leads all the way back to the lochside road. About 5 leisurely hrs in total.summitter20/09/2019
With Sue from Netherton the river crossing just passable on a very wet and windy day. This made the use of bikes not a good idea. Walked the track then onto the fairly craggy top. Returned same way. expected the rain to ease and rivers were passable.Frank31/08/2019
Biked to what used to be Netherton for a late evening ascent of Tom an Fhuarain before a bivi just before the top of Beinn Eagagach continuing the next day with ten more tops to finish at the Lime kiln car park and my car. Beinn Eagagach; Creag an Lochain; Farragon Hill N.top; Creag Mhadaidh; Creag an Loch; Ciochana Chop; Meall Tairneachan; Creag Chean and Meall Odhar Mor. A lot of heather!dickscroop26/08/2019

E along forest track from B846 to near Meall Tairneachan, up and down that, continuing along track through mine (not active on a Saturday) to its end, then across rocky hills to Farragon Hill, approaching it from SW, and ascending. Return more directly W to forest track and back to B846.kdbennett24/11/2018
Through the mine from the west. Saturday, so no-one told us we couldn't.Pete R10/11/2018
From Netherton following good track, which I left at a dog-leg, after some descent from passing Beinn Eagagach. Farragon looks & is a superb hill, which appears to be further from the dog-leg than it is. A nice remote feel on this approach, once good track is left.ger05/09/2018
Walked in from the road at the start of mine Rd, Cold start to the day both Corbett done. lot of snow and good news it was hard.Nozzer01/04/2018
Parked at NN780562 across the road to forest entrance. Lots of snow mostly of good quality. Long walk in, actually interesting walking through mine and quarry. Top looked a bit too steep without crampons, but moving around southwards was much easier. Long walk back, but only took 6 hours.Jhimmy31/03/2018
Solo. Parked just east of Netherton. Everywhere was white with deep snow and thigh-deep drifts. The walk in was very arduous under these conditions. Steep ice climb requiring front points of crampons to get up last section to summit cairn! Scary climbing back down!Dangerous Dave19/03/2018

From Edradynate in thick fog and pouring rain. The hill was completely invisible from the track, so I climbed way too high up the track before realising I was nearly at the top of the adjacent HUMP. Oops. After back tracking to Lochan a'Chait, the mist cleared, and it was jolly good to be able to see the route upwards. Thoroughly soaked.Gill13/11/2016

From the Limekiln, down the B846 and up the mine road which eventually fizzled out leaving a grassy ascent to the summit. Cloud which was coming and going, very much down on the summit.Windy Corner18/10/2015

15th – Solo. Bus Pitlochry to Kynachan. B846 to track through forest, follow all the way to summit of Meall Tairneachan. Pass open cast mine, then tracks disappear, ENE to summit Farragon Hill, then continue along highest line with crags on right til access Rob Roy Way by comms mast. Dry, overcast day, a couple of light showers, but good visibility. Second half of day good for navigation practice, else little to commend these hills. Hard going off the quarry tracks.RGibbs24/04/2014

With James Bellarby, after staying at Pitlochry YH. From Loch Tummel, near Frenich. We found a path, not shown on the map, to the east of Frenich Burn. We eventually struck up hillside to the cairn on the west shoulder of Creag an Lochain and skirted round the latter to reach Farragon Hill. Descended via the NW ridge. Snowing lightly on and off.
