This hill is a mud bath. I set off east of Townhead and kept to sheep pasture. But once you reach the top you are in the mud.Andrew Simmons29/02/2024
I can only agree with Jon that the cattle presence is a serious drawback when approaching this hill; even in a dry spell the fields were pitted and very difficult to walk on without risking an ankle sprain. The high point is one of the bumps east of the mast.Colin Crawford04/06/2022
Small dirt piull-in (NX 6909 4649). Field gate 70m N along the road; across sheep pasture - mapped track doesn't exist. Beyond a field gate near the cottage (Blackhill) your're into cattle territory, the ground is very badly churned, luckily partially frozen today but still muddy, this has the potential to be really bad. 4 prominent bumps at the summit. Any one of 3 could be the HP - not the one with the mast though - all of them occupied at times by cattle, all of them extremely muddy. I agreed with the GR given here - the most easterly one looks and feels highest, but only by a whisker.jonglew31/01/2021
