From Craigeach Fell. Good ground to NX 3173 5564 where I picked up the non-existent track, it's just the base of an old wall. Soon after the ground is dead flat for ~600m and very spongy despite dry weather. In wet conditions best completely avoided. 3 knolls at the top, southernmost one (118m SH) would seem to be the highest. | jonglew | 29/07/2021 |
3rd hill of 8 today on a route from Kirkcowan to Port William climbing Boreland Fell and Craigeach Fell, crossing Craiglarie Moss arriving at NE knoll and then to most likely summit to the SW. Descent Sw from stone wall then on bearing to head for Cattle grid. Crossed Burn with a board found in the grass-would otherwise have been difficult! Dropped onto minor road and followed this easily South heading for Mochrum Fell. | Dazingdale | 03/08/2017 |
