Drove to Marslauch Farm, chatted with pleasant farmer who allowed me to park there and advised best route to avoid the 'feisty bulls'... never saw a single coo of any description. Nice view across the loch to the new ferry terminal. | jonglew | 06/12/2020 |
5th hill of 7 today having climbed Clachan, Blair More, Cairnbowie abd Bine, briefly exploring the Marian tower before following B798 turning NE to cross the Kirminnoch burn. I climbed over a gate and cut across Flush hill to follow track NE to jct of fields. Due to no.of cows took a detour before proceeding towards Cairn Connel but stopped ny Craigoch burn. I could see no way across and couldnt do a running jump due to electrified wire so launched myself into the water and scrambled up the bank. No more problems until summit as was able to crawl under the wires. Summit at stone wall-indistinct and flat. Climbed to highest rocks on wall, land on other side (Eastern) looked no higher. Descent Ssw to follow track past wind turbines, over Sole Burn to then intercept track leading to minor road. Next Hill: Tor of Craigoch. | Dazingdale | 30/07/2017 |
