Parked at South Cairnwiel farm, got car just off the track (NX 0831 4863). Best to keep to E side of wall going up otherwise it will need to be crossed with exposure to West Cairnwiel farm. HP is def on E side wall. | jonglew | 05/12/2020 |
Parked by Kilmadrine stones gate. Asked permission at South Cairnwiel farm to go up the hill. | Adrian | 26/10/2020 |
From West Cairnwell, with permission garnet suggested best through his porch, lock my way across and through chaos of various bags and out the back door then left through a chicken wire gate and across a chaotic back yard with four cows sitting on the ground that didn't even move and some loud cackling hens in a closed pen, then a cocktail crossing loudly and a step over a low electrified cable across track, skirt quagmire area and finally up hill slope and climb another corner wall carefully ducking under another electric fence and just into neighbours field for high point. | vegibagger | 23/03/2018 |
4th hill of 13 today on an epic route from Little Pinminnoch (via 367 bus from Stranraer) to East Muntloch Croft B&B, climbing Knockteenan, Bailie Hill and Cairnmon Fell then heading East over several fields, passing a recumbent Standing stone on Brunting Hill, avoiding cattle where necessary to follow North side of Cairnwell Burn, jumping across after exploring where this could be achieved, then over fence to go South to summit in pasture about 30m from Femce. I headed South via Cairn Hill past Standing stone (interesting) heading towards Bairnscarrow Hlll.... | Dazingdale | 06/10/2017 |
