From Carlops up the Midlothian side of the N Esk on a very muddy path to the reservoir. Along path on W side and up SW slope of Cock Rig meeting a ATV track after 25m climb. Down NW to Bore Stane. Climbed NW on good track for 400m until L turn on good track down to Reservoir. Back to Carlops on good track all the way. Happy New Year 2024Lynnebe01/01/2024

Followed fence down from Spittal/Green Law col, through open gate on N side of fence on a narrow path which led to the ruin and open gate at the gutterford Burn. There's a log bridge there if you need it. Path an vehicle track up on N side of wall/fence. Very easy and pleasant.Belfarm 23/01/2022
Headed straight down from Spittal hall following the fence until I reached the road. Once on the road followed it to the wooden shed and then followed the tyre tracks to the top. Top is on north side of wall.JAdair9715/01/2022

From Green Law north-west slowly down tussocky slope to small plantation. Followed edge of plantation round then followed fence to a gate and grassy track leading to log bridge over Gutterford Burn. Faint track over side of Cock Law then followed wall to summit. Followed path onwards down to join Pentland path then turned south to follow this narrow path back to top of North Esk reservoir then signposted way back to Carlops carparkJubilado31/07/2018

Fourth of round of W and E Kip, Hare Hill, Cock Rig, Green Law, Spittal Hill and Patie's Hill from Ninemileburn. From Hare hill there is a faint path which follows the boundary wall most of the way to the col N of summit. More direct line is rough and wet. Excellent views 1*.
