After Byrelee, back to the bike and then up the road a bit more and along the ride to the open hill (dyke/BWF). Much easier ground than Byrelee, an easy stroll to the summit aided by quadbike tracks. Descent was originally going to be a loop around the forest road, but it is blocked by windthrow at NT361117 so returned the way I rode in back to Deanburnhaugh. | fasgadh | 19/09/2023 |
Parking for 1 possibly 2 cars just into track (NT 3769 1463). Track then logging road to Byreleehaugh (NT 3699 1351), then over rough damp ground to wide mapped break through young conifers a bit SE of 324m spot height. After which direct line to top. Picked up Byrelee and Mid Hills on the return for a 7.6km round. | jonglew | 19/02/2022 |
Drove up track from Deanburnhough to east. Parked large layby NY 3863 1181. To Byerlee Hill initially on good forest track. Thru' forest break to rough ground to top. Returned to track and opposite firebreak SW to easy pasture to Girnwood. Picked up atv, ending in trod thru' reeds and reaching track at NY 3741 1173 track at | carole engel | 26/09/2021 |
Parked by Muselee cottage walked up from Deanburnhaugh on a tarmac road until cottage just before Girnwood farm. West from this point to Girnwood hill. From there across to Byrelee. Back to the forest road taking me back to Girnwood farm. A lovely walk throughly recommened. | Andrew Simmons | 20/03/2021 |

I walked from Deanburnhaugh but could probably have driven to Forester's Cottage. Easy approach through pasture fields | Colin Crawford | 19/10/2017 |
