Parked at the quarry by forestry commission sign. Steeply up and back in 70 minutes | Andrew Simmons | 31/03/2022 |
Parking at the quarry (NY 3353 8906), although with hindsight should have driven a further 800m to NY 3326 8970 where there is plenty of parking. From this higher point took the break steeply and directly to the summit over felled forest with a lot of brash remaining. Took a direct route off back to quarry. With the top now clear would say a point ~45m W of the GR given here is likely the HP (NY 33841 89730). | jonglew | 30/01/2021 |
P at quarry S of hill. Made a mess of it going up steeply from track on E side of hill. New wide road near the top presumably goes down to Fingland Sike and a narrower track descends on the E side of the hill. The top has many fallen trees. | chrisbien | 12/01/2020 |
From Bauchle Hill, NW to col, SW along edge of forest, then upper forest road to mildly brashy FB NE of top. | agentmancuso | 28/02/2019 |
Break from NE wide, with heather, tussocks and forest debris (but much easier than expected) led to summit in open forest | carole engel | 13/07/2018 |
Same approach as Rob. Difficult to assess highest point due to trees and no clear line of sight. Both possible points should be visited to be sure | Colin Crawford | 21/11/2016 |
From SSW: parked at start of track although probably best to drive in past houses (cider for sale!) and park just inside wood - no obstacles. Nice mature woodland: I ascended from SW, steep and a little brashy in places. If I'd thought of it, could have combined with Bauchle Hill. | RHW | 26/09/2015 |
