Logged Descriptions  (logged by 42 users)ByDate of Ascent
Parked at the mast and wondered to a few high points. Wondering if the quarry bing has got high enough to be a new high point.JAdair9705/03/2023
Over the gate past the mast and direct line up to HPAndrew Simmons19/07/2022
Parked roadside nearest to brow of hill on the road, ~250m north (NS 8316 6417). Through field gate to mast then across the rough. Obvious high point.jonglew22/04/2022
Repeat for the relocated HP also visited the other 3 areas as well.robertphillips14/02/2022
Parked north of farm and small mast back up road to gate, past mast and then across two fences containing small plantations, relatively easy. Back across other side of road to cairn.PeterD14/10/2021
Final hill of 8 in sunny drought conditions. Around quarry rim, through new plantation, topped out and returned to car by gate opposite farm and short roadwalk.lordtonult30/06/2021
Easy step over the fences. Returned to road dryshod.fasgadh19/06/2021
Parked 200m N of Duntiland farm then walked back along the road to gate at high point. Stepped across two fences which protect new tree planting.bjewing07/03/2021
Took Campbell Singer's advice and started at gate opposite farm. This area is now a complete morass due to a small herd of heiland coos being fed there. Nearly lost a wellie in the mud. Better route up near the mast. Nice tight rylock made it easy to cross the stock fences through the plantation.sclater31/01/2020
Parked beside 'abandoned' caravan then back up the road across rough ground to the summit.curlebd18/01/2020
The summit is defended by marsh and a recently planted and fenced woodland. I recommend wellies!summitter01/06/2019
After great consideration, the field gate opposite the farm entrance provides a dry direct route. Don’t start from the field immediately north of the quarry as the bog is treacherous.Campbell Singer01/11/2018
Lots of bw fence climbing.ngthack14/04/2018
Parked on the verge between quarry and farm, and followed a route over two gates, through the strip plantation, along the quarry rim, and beside a fence, before crossing hummock grass to the barely perceptible summit. With care, no barbed wire fences need be crossed. A sika deer loped along ahead of me as I returned in the fading evening light. A nice companion to have on my completion of the North Lanarkshire tumps.Nick Down105/10/2017
Two barbed wire fences to get over to reach top. Just a non descript hump in a field.Steve51119/07/2017
Via minor roads and tracks from Caldercruix station, past Lilly Loch. Headed for high point at 2nd mast. Boring but great sight lines as would expect given the proliferation of masts. The forest shown on streetmap is just very young planting and easy to cross. On to Cant hills.Thearlaichdubh04/06/2017
The least pretty of the North Lanarkshire TUMPs near Black Hill Transmitter.Dugswell211/10/2016

From lay-by on road between the quarry and the farm, skirt along the fence bounding the quarry. Cross tree belt to grassy crescent. Wide views all round.neimcv15/09/2015
A new fenced woodland nearly stopped me getting to the top. A bit boggy.Play2End11/07/2015
parked at gate to mast.robertphillips07/07/2015
Thanks Minto, drove to mast also, gate open. Dry, calm cool and great views, fence new and barbed wire.iangalbraith18/11/2014
Drove up to the mast as the gate was open. Thick fog, so couldn't see car from road, especially in the half light at 07:00. Long strip plantation guarded by fence, with barbed wire. Knew I was temporarily miss-placed when I didn't find the plantation on return journey, and found a stay wire to the mast to the north! Fell into a knee deep bog too.Minto15/11/2014
