Track from the minor road to the north, all tracks now cleared of windblown trees. | robertphillips | 11/11/2022 |
Parked NT 7837 5602 expecting an easy walk up, however, 75% of the trees are down, harvester started clear up, but massive diversion necessary. Had to head down to SW corner. Borthwick Plantaion area, to follow edge of forest, along edge of quarry. Getting in to the high point also a bleedin' nightmare. Clearly the worst windthrow I've ever had the pleasure to walk in (and over and under!). Extraction to Castle Mains also very problematical. A 5k walk was doubled in distance and took 3hrs. | jonglew | 19/06/2022 |
Duns Law the firstly then used paths through Dun Castle estate to reach this top. | Andrew Simmons | 09/12/2020 |
Parked NT 7697 5598. Good track all way. Approx. 100m tussocks on top | carole engel | 22/03/2020 |
Been to the FBM before. Bike from the schools in Duns. There is a good track all the way up to the summit clearing. See the orienteering map on the ELO routegadget. Return via the Longformacus road. | fasgadh | 09/12/2019 |
From good parking below the mast on Hardens Hill, a long approach but easy enough. Only the final 100m involved a thrash through the trees | Colin Crawford | 22/03/2019 |
Open area in coniferous forest. | Adrian | 03/11/2018 |
Bagged before searching for the FBM in the tall bracket. | Dugswell2 | 30/08/2017 |
