Track from the minor road to the north, all tracks now cleared of windblown trees.robertphillips11/11/2022
Parked NT 7837 5602 expecting an easy walk up, however, 75% of the trees are down, harvester started clear up, but massive diversion necessary. Had to head down to SW corner. Borthwick Plantaion area, to follow edge of forest, along edge of quarry. Getting in to the high point also a bleedin' nightmare. Clearly the worst windthrow I've ever had the pleasure to walk in (and over and under!). Extraction to Castle Mains also very problematical. A 5k walk was doubled in distance and took 3hrs.jonglew19/06/2022

Been to the FBM before. Bike from the schools in Duns. There is a good track all the way up to the summit clearing. See the orienteering map on the ELO routegadget. Return via the Longformacus road.fasgadh09/12/2019
From good parking below the mast on Hardens Hill, a long approach but easy enough. Only the final 100m involved a thrash through the treesColin Crawford22/03/2019
