Having worked my way round the north side of quarry from Ravelrig Hill, Dalmahoy and Kaimes came as very pleasant surprises with superb views. Diagonal return to A70 and Balerno.lordtonult27/09/2022

From the junction on the A70 to the S. Track and paths > Dalmahoy Hill. Continued back along the ridge > Kaimes Hill.JohnR25/02/2022
Parked on quarry access road then walked round the back and up the well field. Wee unnecessary scramble and then along the ridge to a boulder that had the highest prominence by my reckoning. On to Dalmahoy afterwards.JAdair9713/02/2022

Took marked footpath from SE of Kaimes to top of Kaimes then on to Dalmahoy. Excellent pair of hills - the hill fort on Kaimes still prominent.sclater14/01/2022

Following Dalmahoy Hill, approached from south. Interesting gorse bush guarding the narrow point in the arête.N.Morters23/04/2020

After Dalmahoy Hill. Path gets quite close to edge of the quarry. With Christine Page.jonglew10/10/2018

With Chris Bienkowski to assist him with vertigo past the cliff edge gorse path. I'd broken down some of the gorse bush on Saturday to make a way through that wasn't right next to the edge. It worked as he was able to brave the demons and get across to the summit. Delighted to be of help in facilitating this.vegibagger04/07/2018
Wouldn't have made it without Charles - thanks. P03 and Edinburgh completed.chrisbien04/07/2018
Final piece of the jigsaw. Edinburgh UA TuMP. sunny final June day of slightly higher companion of these two hills.. has bit of crest path through a bit of gorse close to a cliff that gives some people vertigo.vegibagger30/06/2018
Got within 30m of top but didn't want to go right to the edge by large bush of gorse.chrisbien19/05/2018
Down from Dalmahoy Hill to the wall and turned south. Over the wall at gap then through gate on the left. Turned sharp right (north) then followed track to summit. Final 5or 6 metres of ascent was a muddy scramble. Total traverse of summit involved a few moments (h)airier than I would have liked with my yearsJubilado09/03/2018

From n, quarry entrance, straight up W face then L to summit outcrop, obvious hp with mapped 240co to E presumably lost to quarrying (c.10m lower there - grassy ground apparently landscaped). Ridge not the exciting scramble advertised but a little exposed at one point. Dalmahoy not revisited, descended from above col finding gap in wall and gorseRHW11/12/2016
from Kirknewton railway station along minor rd to North then up the quarry road and through the field to the col. You avoid a barbed wire fence by following the track which is 2m inside the quarry gate. Super wee ridge with cloud in the valleys. On to Dalmahoy hill.Thearlaichdubh21/11/2016
From Dalmahoy Hill. A fab ridge line, exposed and tricky. Back to the A70 via the vent pipes.Play2End12/07/2016

From Kirknewton. Walked SW along B7031 and then cut across airfield, through a wood, and then a field to east end of Kaimes Hill. - Totally daft route. From there walked under crags on south side of hill and headed north for ridge. Great wee hill.russell6128/02/2016

Remarkable. Drove all the way to 128665, spoke to farmer, no problem parking there, took diagonal route past binbag trees up steep north face, felt like proper hillwalking, kestrel, vole etc, splendid. For circuit with Dalmahoy Hill, better to park on quarry road around 131670.alda08/01/2015

Up from quarry road where there is ample parking. Quarryed top. Good views.Adrian15/11/2014
From the north. Parking at junction (bend) in quarry access road. Up though 1 field to open hill. Almost an arete-like summit ridge, with steep natural rock to the N, and quarried rock to the S. The remains of former quarry looked to have been used for lanfill judging by all the strange vent pipes. I guess this hill may have been even higher at some point in the distant past.Minto20/10/2014
