Visited the tower as well. With Ben.hillsman19/04/2018
From the Tower car park, taking the marked path and detouring via a gate to outflank a barbed wire fence, before a miniature ridge walk to the summit trig next to a concrete shelter. Great views from the Eildons to the Cheviots. Don't miss Smailholm Tower with its delightful tableaux of the Border Ballads.Nick Down108/10/2017
