Not a welcoming area. Approached via Balnahow then up through field with cows and over bank and BWF’s to summit outcrop with trig. Back the same way. | RichardM | 26/09/2022 |
Parked at end of public road to west in layby. Followed tarmac farm track NE through Balnahow farm and its holiday cottages. Forked left into field before gated field with bio secure signage. Gap in gorse bank near trig . HP on rock outcrop. Extensive views. | Denise | 25/09/2022 |
Verge parking at start of road to sewage treatment plant (SC 3280 7234). Once over rly bridge track leads off E through hedge, then several fields, gorse banks, b/w stock fences, lots of coos to the top - this is an awkward one... and it's also GOML country! | jonglew | 10/12/2021 |
No problem from Balnahow, through buildings then gate on left with only one field boundary to cross. | chalky1953 | 27/08/2019 |
Parked on estate road SC 3337 7180. NE along track to gate - strictly no entry. Over, along to gate to trig field | carole engel | 04/09/2018 |
2nd tump of 3 today on a route from Ballasalla to Douglas, exploing Silverdale Glen then onto coastal path and upto Ballafurt hill, back onto coastal path following it all the way to Balnahow Farm. I was then asked if i was lost-after explaining my mission i was allowed to proceed over gate then skirting field edges with cattle in to climb over boundary fence to trig and slightly higher outcrop. A few metres N of boundary fence is another contender (made to wait for herd of cows to get used to me before wading through them). Continued Nne skirting Croggen Glen and Lhergy house to drop into Port Soderick Glen, heading for Carnane Hill... | Dazingdale | 19/07/2018 |
Discrete approach from crossroads at the SW, a few fences to negotiate before reaching the summit with trig point. Nice views once up there, timing your visit is the key to a hassle free visit. | dreeder75 | 21/05/2015 |
Failed on approach from ENE (Strictly Private etc) - succeeded from W across fields from Xroads. | jimbloomer | 14/04/2013 |
Balnahow Hill is 122 metres high and a P54 hill with a trig. It is also called Ballacregga Farm Trig and is tricky to get to. We approach from the crossroads to the SW over gate and two boundary banks with barbed wire fencing on either side.
