Parked south of Maes Hir, up the road then track to the bwlch before heading off across the heather using occasional traces of paths then the fence line which goes up between the two tops. Then back to the bwlch and up Y Graig following the forest boundary until the final bit up through growing Christmas trees which are penetrable although not easily. No longer like the photo.clivevilla07/01/2019

We parked at SH 97515 34007 but it is possible to carry on and park easily at Bwlch y Fenni at SH 97218 33301 where a myriad of paths & tracks meet. From the bwlch we did Y Graig first then back to the bwlch for Moel Cae-Howel.David Gradwell23/08/2016
From moel cae howell. Dropped to bwlch then straightforward grassy sheepie fields to top. View decent but less so that the higher neighbour. Return via fp through forestry. Not bad but theres a good few hidden hazards amongst the brambles and gorse.stig_nest24/05/2016
Parked at the end of the public road on the steep lane up from the B4391 at SH 97515 34006 - plenty of space on the sides of the tarmac, but not when boggy. The lane would not be negotiable in ice or snow. Took the tarmac track up to Bwlch y Fenni, then RoW NW through sheep pasture to access land. Then followed a faint track through cropped heather by the fence up to a broken wall and fence (not barbed). After that some 50m of tricky walking through a felled area to the summit - now marked with an upright stone in an oblong of tree trunks. New conifers have been planted in the area, so access will be getting even more difficult idc. Walk continued to Moel Cae-howel.marktrengove15/12/2014
plantation, nice view from rock/heather bluff to N. from 975339, tarmac road, then f/p along edge of pasture RHW01/04/2006
